JENNY GOLDSTEIN
She'd opted to walk with Frank and Marcus, considering she and Nat seemed to buttheads quite frequently now. The young woman kept quiet as she followed alongside the two military men, before one spoke up. Marcus wanted to know what had startled her. She turned her eyes toward him "...It wasn't anything in particular, i just....i miss my family and, i guess sometimes it becomes too much?" she didn't know how to explain it, it was mostly fear concern that had spooked her.
She wasn't used to not being with family. Her family were her rock, they kept her going but now without them...how could she...it was too damn hard and sure, these strangers sufficed well for company...aside from Nat. But, she needed her family, she needed Chris. She hoped he was okay. She looked to Marcus and shrugged "Honestly, it's okay. I just think too much sometimes...that's all" she confessed with a small smile.
"Do you think this plan is going to work? i mean...really work?" she asked him, before turning her eyes toward Frank for his two cents. Jenny glanced over her shoulder at Nat and Ethan who seemed to be in some kind of dispute. She sighed and looked back at Marcus and Frank "Do you think everyone is dead?" she asked, morbid as it was..she had to ask, she had to know. She only had her own mind for company, she wanted to explore there minds.

"...It wasn't anything in particular, i just....i miss my family and, i guess sometimes it becomes too much?"
Ethan and Natalie continued to bicker, and Marcus made no attempt to listen to what they were saying. Instead he listened to what Jenny was telling him. He felt relieved knowing that she hadn't seen an infected coming at them or something along those lines. Still, the girl couldn't be skittish...false alarms could easily turn into a bad situation. Maybe someone got spooked, and accidently shot someone...the blood would draw in the infected like flies to honey.
"I know what ya mean..." Marcus said. He understood family ties, and he wanted so much to make it back home to his own family. That seemed less and less likely by the day, however.
"Honestly, it's okay. I just think too much sometimes...that's all"
"Try to think less then, keep your focus...you'll need it to survive."
Marcus peered into the low lighting provided by his gun's flashlight. So far, so good was the saying for this situation. He breathed slow, shallow, silent. A technique he had learned on more than a couple night raids...best to make as little sound as possible.
"Do you think this plan is going to work? i mean...really work?"
"It won't if we make too much noise," He hissed in a low whisper.
"Do you think everyone is dead?"
Marcus really wasn't sure about that one...he had to figure that mostly, yeah, everyone was dead. But he didn't know for sure...
"For all we know, yeah..." He trailed off into utter silence.

"There's no place like home."
Ethan scowled at Natalie as she spoke to him as if it were no big deal whatsoever. "Fuck off..." Ethan muttered to himself as Natalie spoke to him and called him a girl. Ethan wasn't in the mood her jokes. He'd been trying to be serious and Nat was here trying to make a fucking joke out of it and take the piss out of Ethan. Well, Ethan wasn't very happy about it, that much was for damn sure. Ethan eyed Natalie as she turned to him. The young man could see that she seemed to think twice about what she'd said. As Natalie spoke, Ethan nodded and listened. The young man agreed with her in a sense... But he also differed as well. "Look, it's not like I expect a unicorn to be running around shooting a rainbow out of its ass... All I was trying to say before was that you just need to ease up a little..." For a moment, Ethan paused slightly as he eyed Natalie again. "All I'm saying is just cut her some slack. Everyone's on edge. All of us. If we can't live and work together, we'll die..."Ethan looked ahead as they continued to descend into the subway... The young man eyed what he could see before him and proceeded cautiously. It wasn't Ethan's preferred route... Not by any means... But to be honest, it was better than walking around outside with all those demonic creatures. Ethan listened some more as Natalie spoke and watched intently as she frowned slightly. The young woman wasn't happy about what had happened before... Having to choose their lives over the life of some poor schmuck. Ethan didn't feel good about it either... But a part of Ethan knew that it was survival of the fittest out here... Kill or be killed. The young man was interested in surviving and he knew Natalie was too... At all costs. Ethan and Nat usually got on pretty well... It was only just this time that they'd begun to fight a bit. Ethan The young man didn't like to admit when he was wrong... Ethan spoke softly for a moment. "You're right..." The young man remained quiet for a moment as Natalie began to speak about tough love and keeping an eye on Jenny before she got them all in trouble. The young man extended his free arm and used it to pull Natalie closer to him as they walked. With his hand pulling her close, Ethan leaned in and whispered into the young blonde's ear so no one else could hear. "You know I've got your back, right? No matter what happens, no matter what these other guys say, I've got you covered."[/blockquote]

Right now she found herself in a world full of confusion, Natalie had a habit of putting a front on..pretending to be tougher then she was in a bid to escape getting close to anyone and Ethan wasn't any exception. She had been harsh to him with no reason but fuck it, she wasn't here to make friends though maybe, just maybe it wasn't a terrible idea "Fuck off..." Ethan muttered, she fleeted her eyes toward him watching him for a moment or so before he spoke again "Look, it's not like I expect a unicorn to be running around shooting a rainbow out of its ass... All I was trying to say before was that you just need to ease up a little..." Ethan paused, prompting a risen brow from her. Ease up? and what? let the little blonde princess lead them all to there demise?...not a chance.
"All I'm saying is just cut her some slack. Everyone's on edge. All of us. If we can't live and work together, we'll die..." he said. He made a good point to be fair. Nat sighed slightly, rolling her eyes some. He was right, what did fighting really solve? They got into a bit of a hoe down, but mostly an exchange of strong words and dirty looks.
"You're right..." Ethan told her. She was actually surprised to hear such a thing but hearing it never got old. Yes, she was right and if Jenny wasn't careful she'd get them all killed. Ethan placed his arm behind her back, she raised a brow at him turning her eyes to face him. He pulled her closer, keeping his voice low as a way of buying some privacy from the others "You know I've got your back, right? No matter what happens, no matter what these other guys say, I've got you covered." Ethan assured her, a kind thing to do really. She smirked at him "...I see that." she joked gesturing to his arm around her.
The blonde dropped her hand and gave him a quick pat on the rear "...Right back at ya." With a small smile she let her hand free and began to walk a little ahead, catching up with the others in time to hear Jenny asking about the well being of others "We can't be sure though. But let's hope they're not. The more of us, the better a chance we have of surviving but we need to be very careful of who we bump into along the way. Times like these, not everyone can be trusted. If people know the situation, regarding injuries and such...they're going to lie to survive. So everyone we meet, everyone we get friendly with...we need to check and make sure they're in a safe state, or else we're all screwed." Natalie said, this time without her typical attitude. She was actually trying to be civil.
"I'm sure Chris is fine. He's probably doing what you are, found a group and is looking for a way out of this suckfest" she added gently. Yeah, she wasn't going to rag on her anymore but, she was still going to watch her like a hawk...just incase she did something stupid.

Frank stopped where he saw the movement, sighing a breath of relief when he saw that it was just some rats moving around in a pile. Over a dead body. Zombie rats… That was new. If they were even zombies… He hadn’t seen the virus effect many animals. They’d have run into infected animals by now if there were any.
But, what he saw near the body interested him. He picked up one of the small, shiny objects and checked the bottom. A casing.
”Grant, come here.” He said. When he heard the steps behind him, he held up the casing. A 5.56x45mm round. Military issue. There were hundreds of them on the ground. That meant a squad or more of men had been here, they had put out a few SAW belts worth of rounds, and then they had been on their way. There were no bodies dressed in fatigues.
”We may have just lucked out big time.” Frank said. A detachment of men who had managed to take the subway and secure it? That would be their best break yet. If they were friendly…
”All right everyone, listen up.” He said in a normal tone of voice, practically a yell in the tunnel. It wasn’t as big an issue, now that they knew the bulk of the infected down here were all dead or mostly dead.
”We have evidence of a series of military operatives somewhere down here. We don’t know if they are friendly or not, so as soon as I tell you to you hang back and you hide as best as you can.” He said. He’d go ahead and find out what was what. If it was a trap of some kind or if they were the black ops teams doing clean up, he would make sure that he was the only of their group to do. And that he would take some of the enemy forces with him.
”Anyone have a problem with that?” He asked the civilians. He wouldn’t be asking Grant, he was the only one he could force to stay back. If anything happened, the group would need Marcus.
