» CREATING
Here are some essential things to remember when you are creating your character.
Remembering and implementing these things will help to expedite your application process and get you RP'ing faster.
Remembering and implementing these things will help to expedite your application process and get you RP'ing faster.
The Lists -
Your Likes/Dislikes and Strengths/Weaknesses must be the same number. The minimum for each of these is three (3). However, you can certainly have more, however they must be adjusted accordingly. This means if you have four (4) likes, then you must have four (4) dislikes. The same goes for Strengths/Weaknesses.
This does not apply for Flaws and Skills.
Dislikes -
Alright, so let's get this straight. No one, unless you're one of the infected... Is going to actually like the infected, zombie people. You are not allowed to list the infected/zombies/walking dead as one of your dislikes. It's just a given. Think of something else.
Character Age VS. CC Age -
When creating your character it is best to keep your character's age within FIVE (5) years of their CC's age. This serves to better ensure realism in role playing, so we don't have people with fifty year old celebrities claiming to be twenty-five.
Understanding Flaws -
The best way to understand a flaw is to think of it as a human IMPERFECTION.
What this means is that we don't want a bunch of Mary Sue's and Gary Stu's running around... We want these to be as close to real people as possible!
Thus, your flaws must be things that make your character truly flawed... No one's perfect.
What works best here are things like phobias, scars, mental illnesses, extreme personality traits, allergies, sicknesses, etc.
Please also remember that your character flaws must be varied. You cannot choose to give your characters three allergies, extreme personality traits, scars, etc.
Examples -
- Arachnophobia
- Scar from [insert childhood accident]
- Penicillin Allergy
- Extremely Stubborn
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder [OCD]
The list goes on and on and these are certainly only a few examples.
As we continue, this list will be added to and expanded upon, so please check back frequently!
As always, if you have any questions, please contact a staff member, who will be more than glad to assist you!
