Today was going alike any other day. She arrived at the office, got changed into her uniform and headed out to patrol with Saxon. Michael Saxon was her partner and the only guy at her base to not try to woo her. Most of the guys treated her one of two ways. The first, they would try there look with her, hit on her and bet to see which one got in her pants first. Of course, to this day no one had won the bet because she simply wasn’t interested. The second, well it was a lot more complex. You see, Andy liked to be considered as equal and in there world, apparently to be equal she had to become a guy for the night..yeah, strip clubs and boxing and not just watching but participating in a sparring session. Well, they soon came to eat their hats when Andrea got a knockout in. It seemed being equal was not so hard to accomplish then she’d previously considered.
She was on patrol with Saxon today. The streets were pretty quiet for some time, so they’d parked up outside a coffee shop. She was on coffee run for today and headed inside to queue up. The queues again were quiet and not as busy as they usually were which was strange. Either way, she wouldn’t complain because it made this a lot more bearable.
Armed with coffee she headed out the cafe and toward the car again. Saxon leant over “Buckle up baby girl, we got a job..” he smiled. She nodded and got into the car placing the coffees down and strapped in “Where is it?” she asked curiously. He had his hands on the wheel and started the car up “A house a couple of blocks from here, it’s nothing new apparently..the old man is known to do his talking with this fists..” he gave her a brief before pulling out of the parking space and heading toward there given destination.
When they got to the scene it was pretty busy, people had began to crowd around outside the house and the neighbours were trying to force their way inside. Smashing could be heard from within and the sounds of screaming. Saxon took lead and she followed behind “Out of the way..” he ordered and she followed in suite. Michael knocked on the door but there was no answer. She turned to the neighbours who weren’t budging “Okay people, we have this under control, please go back inside your homes..” she spoke politely. The neighbours were concerned, which was nice to see because in most domestic abuse cases it seemed that the neighbours and those within the family who knew what was going on, played blind ignorance to it all.
They began to back off and head back down the drive. She turned to Saxon who was listening against the door, when he turned the handle the door had been unlocked the whole time. Saxon sighed and rolled his eyes to which she stifled a laugh “Jackass..” she muttered shaking her head this time taking lead inside. She slowly stepped over the threshold to the house and let her hazel hues gaze around the entry hallway “Mister Summers?..Misses Summers?..it’s the police..” she called as she began to walk further inside.
The place was a mess there was furniture tipped over, glass and broken bits of furniture strewn across the floor but no one to be seen. She glanced at Saxon and entered the lounge, again no one. Then, there was a loud banging coming from the kitchen. It was alike someone banging on a door. She shared a look of concern with Saxon and moved through the lounge, through the dining room and toward the kitchen door where someone was banging against. She stepped closer and outstretched her hand to turn the handle “No!” a voice screamed “Don’t, don’t let her out!” the voice screamed again. She stopped and turned to look over her shoulder.
Mister Summers was sat on the ground against the wall clutching at his arm. She turned concerned eyes to Saxon. They had not expected to see him with the injuries. She turned to face him and took a step forward. Saxon approached Mr. Summers “Why is she locked in there?” he asked him as he knelt down. Andy remained by the door “She’s crazed that’s why. Fucking bitch, bit me!” he yelled so that she could hear him. Andrea jumped, startled, hearing growling beyond the door as Misses Summers continued to pound her fists against the wood.
Andrea didn’t really know what to think right now, she wasn’t sure what was going on here but it seemed as if Mrs. Summers was getting her revenge. Mr. Summers was known for beating his wife, she figured..he didn’t like the taste of his own medicine. Saxon sighed and looked at him “Lemme see your arm..” he asked, Summers was hesitant but finally let go and showed him. Saxon’s face dropped “Holyshit..come here..” he called to Andrea. She was hesitant but inched forward, her eyes narrowed. She’d taken a chunk clean out of his arm.
The screaming got louder, the pounding heavier. She looked at Saxon who gave her a smile and got up “I’ll handle her, stay with him..” he said as he began to approach the door, he had his gun raised. She watched carefully, they had to be cautious, god knows what state she was in. Michael turned the handle and pushed the door open; he held his gun ready in front of him but Mrs. Summers had gone. Saxon raised a brow and stepped a little inside the kitchen.
Andrea watched and slowly got to her feet grabbing her own gun. As far as Saxon could see, she had gone. The back door was also wide open. He shrugged and turned his back on the kitchen, his eyes moved to Andrea “She’s not here..” BANG! BANG! two gunfire’s left Andreas gun, both bullets whizzed passed Saxons head who looked like he was about to pass out. The colour drained from his face. He slowly turned his head to the side and heard a thud. On further inspection he saw Mrs. Summers laying with her back against the ground, two bullet holes in her, one in her chest and the other her neck. She was holding an axe, she was holding a butcher’s knife ready to stab him.
Saxon’s jaw hit the floor. He looked at Andrea whose gun was still smoking. Mr. Summers cried out, his wife was dead. Andrea looked a little startled herself but Saxon reassured her. He stepped forward “You did the right thing..” he whispered, he didn’t speak aloud, it was insensitive for Mr. Summers to hear such a thing. Andrea nodded. They left the kitchen and Andrea turned to close the door. As she turned her head she saw Mrs. Summers sit up. What the fuck? She was dead? Her hazel eyes narrowed on Mrs. Summers.
“What the..wha..” Saxon stumbled over words. Mrs. Summers began snarling and growling like a wild animal. She jumped to her feet and ran at the door. Andrea slammed the door shut and grabbed at the handle where Mrs. Summers began banging once more. She turned her eyes to Saxon who looked as shocked as she did. He eyes dropped to Mr. Summers, who was slumped against the wall. She held the door tightly “Mr Summers?” she called. But, there was no response. Saxon began over toward the man “Hey, Summers?” he called as he outstretched his hand. Summers lifted his head, which same look on his face his wife had. Wide eyed Saxon stepped back “Uh..i think we got a situation here..” he said aloud. Andrea looked up “You don’t say?” she sarcastically remarked then bought her attention to Mr. Summers. He lunged at Saxon who quickly shot him; the bullet hit him in the chest and knocked him to the ground.
Saxon kicked his foot, he didn’t move, he was as stiff as a board. He shook his head and turned to Andrea “What the fuck is going on around here?” he asked, this was all a little too fucking weird for him. Saxon wasn’t looking and Andrea was too focused on keeping the fucking door tight. Mr. Summers had got up again and grabbed out at Saxons leg. Saxon tried to shake him off but it was no use. He was trying to bite him. Saxon took his gun and pointed it at Mr. Summers head; he pulled the trigger and popped a bullet in his skull. The blood splashed up him, over his face, over his clothes. The man was dead now.
He turned to Andrea “Let’s get the fuck outta here..” she nodded agreeing. He took a step back and got ready with his gun, he was going to shoot the wife too “On 3..one..two....three!” he called. Andrea let go of the door and Mrs. Summers ran in. She got just out of the door when Saxon dropped her with a bullet between the eyes. Once the correct people were in place, the coroner’s office etc..they were able to leave the scene and headed back to base about an hour or two later after being called on the job.
They got to the office and Saxon went to clean all the blood he’d become stained with. She sat down, there seemed to be a lot of disturbance calls today and a lot of people coming in who’d been assaulted or committed some kind of assault on someone else. She felt as if someone was watching her. Andrea turned her head to the left and clocked some guy cuffed to a chair, he was watching her like a hawk and even when she noticed him he didn’t turn away. She raised a brow at him. Turner who was booking him looked at Andy then the guy and laughed “I think he likes ya..” he taunted and looked at the guy in front of him “Hey, eyes at me..” he ordered. The man slowly turned his eyes toward Turner; they were like black holes of nothingness. He worse no expression on his face, just stared into Turner’s soul. It freaked her out a little.
She got from her seat and walked toward the coffee machines. She heard a yell and turned around; she dropped the coffee on the floor. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion around her. The guy at the desk, who’d been eyeing her, had jumped up and bit Turner on the neck. Two tables down a couple had started fighting and turned on some of the officers. Everything was going insane around her. Other cops began shooting and as did she, it was chaos. Saxon arrived back and saw what was going on, but it seemed that everyone they shot just got back up. Their weapons were useless?
Saxon grabbed her arm and pulled her down the corridor to safety. They moved to the office closest and locked the door behind them. Saxon pulled the desk in front of the door and lent up it “Things are out of control, what the fuck is going on today?!” he exclaimed slumping against the desk. She took a deep breath “I don’t know..but I think it’s about to get worse. We can’t stay in here..we need to be out there and helping the-“ Saxon held his hand up at her, stopping her “No..there’s nothing we can do. You saw what happened back at that house. If it’s something that’s going around..the best thing we can do is stay the fuck outta there way. I’m not risking getting bitten by one of those fuckers..we’ve seen it, we’ve seen what happens. It’s happening out there, don’t deny it..” she narrowed her eyes on him. He was right, she hated to admit it but he was.
She sighed and sat down beside him. It was all awaiting game now.
