RILEY LARSEN LaGuardia Airport
If the carnage at the hospital was anything to go by, this whole situation was one major fuck up. This place was out of control. What got to him most was, a situation so big as this..you did not need to be in New York to witness the carnage, this place had become like hell on earth. It made Riley wonder; were the military really as clueless as they’d led him and his team to believe? Or, could it be that they had merely sent Larsen and his men in to clean up their own mess? You had to ask yourself, who could you trust in this situation? How far were people willing to go to keep themselves safe? Riley was now beginning to wonder. They had arrived at the hospital where they had met a doctor Green. She explained the situation as best as she could but it did not become too long before they were witnessing it themselves. There was a dire situation at the hospital. There were hoards of people all there for different reasons; some were in need of medical attention and others just seeking out shelter from the infected outside. Suffice to say the shit well and truly hit the fan when the infected began to slowly over take the hospital. In most cases Larsen would have stayed to fight it out but, it was far too dangerous and he had his team behind him..he couldn’t risk them. The team bailed, they took whoever they could at the time and hit the underground parking lot. Taking some vehicles left abandoned. Of course with his piss poor luck, the options were restricted. What they were left with weren’t the most powerful or sturdy of vehicles. The ambulances would just have to do right now. The first ambulance held: Glau who was driving, Larsen who was sitting shotgun and Kendall and Taylor were in the back with two survivors. The male was in his mid 20’s, apparently he had been in a coma for the last 30 days or so. What a fucking thing to wake up to. He had woken up to all of this shit just a couple of hours ago. The second survivor was a teenage girl; she had gotten into a vehicle collision on the way to the hospital. Her father had been attacked by one of the infected and they were hoping to get him some help. Sadly, medical advice was not on the cards for today. She then witnessed her father not only change into one of those fuckers outside, but to then be shot dead by Larsen’s hands after he tried to take a chunk out of Taylor. This was a sure call for awkward times ahead. In the second Ambulance Gamble was driving, Wyler was seated shotgun and Gabe and Doctor Green were in the back with a further three survivors. The first two survivors were Spanish siblings, a brother and sister both in their mid 20’s who had sought refuge in the hospital after the vehicle collided with a family car just outside. The second was a guy in his 30’s; he looked rough, hung-over perhaps? No one really knew why he was at the hospital, he hadn’t spoken much and then there was a teen boy, he’d just lost his mother back there. The two teams were on route to the LaGuardia airport. Larsen had hoped for more survivors but unfortunately five had been what they were left with. In a way it was probably a good thing, the less people they had, the more people waiting could get on board. Lucky for them there piece of shit vehicles would work out because as it stood the LaGuardia airport was only 15 minutes away from the Elmhurst Hospital Centre. To be honest, they could have footed it out, he wouldn’t have minded all that much but with survivors on board..they had to take precaution. As Glau drove down the street Larsen kept his eyes peeled, the place was dead, no pun intended there but the streets were fucking desolate right now. Not one person in sight as of yet. They were leading the cavalry now with Wyler, Gamble and Green following on their tale. Larsen turned his head to look over his shoulder, he watched the two survivors as they sat quietly. He gave a brave smile to Kendall before turning his eyes back to Glau. That kid, he never looked happier. He was so damn cheerful all the damn time, Riley sometimes wondered if he was taking something or if maybe he was just completely stupid and had no idea what kind of shit he was in. Even so, he appreciated the pessimism right now because as it stood Riley was going out of his mind. “..Omega Skunk this is Steel Cobra..” Gamble’s voice echoed over the radio. Glau laughed out loud at the creative usage of codenames, very snappy as it were “Mother fucker..” he muttered, shaking his head in disbelief. A light chuckle escaped Larsen as he sat forward some “What is it Gamble?” he questioned informally. He glanced at Glau who glanced back momentarily before then allocating his eyes on the road once more. The last thing they needed was a collision. “We seem to have some company boys..don’t worry though, I got it under control..” Gamble assured. He grinned holding his pistol tight in his hand. He moved from his seat and into the back of the ambulance. Larsen raised a brow and looked in his mirror; he could see on the left side, four infected chasing behind the ambulance. So much for this being easy. Gamble walked to the back of the ambulance and motioned for the survivors to move back. He nodded for Gabe to join him. Getting his gun ready he pushed the door open. The door hit the closet in the face and knocked him on his back causing another to fall over him. Gamble took pot shots and the two remaining, one in the neck and one straight in the head. The first continued to run at the vehicle before being shortly joined by his friends. Gabe took shots and hit the duo each in the forehead; he looked pretty damn pleased with himself sending a smirk at Gamble. He rolled his eyes “Beginners luck..” he muttered turning his gun and shooting the last one. All four were down and out. With that over Larsen and the teams soon arrived at the LaGuardia airport. Parking up just outside the traffic Riley eyed the streets, they were milling with civilians all trying to get a seat on those planes. Riley knew not everyone would make it out. It was unfortunate but this is what they’d been reduced too. He emerged from the vehicle and Wyler parked up just behind. He was reunited with his team and helped take their survivors inside. The inside of the airport was no better, there were people everywhere. Some people had been here for hours, some were sleeping on seats. Others were pacing in anticipation. However many people were there a division seemed to be in tact here, military officials stuck out like a sore thumb and by manoeuvring through the crowd Larsen found that these civilians weren’t all so favourable of those in uniform. Fuck, if looks could kill him and his team would have dropped down dead now. It seemed speculation was also arising amongst the civilians. Riley was as oblivious as they were, he was just here to do his job and get out. He turned to those who were with him. The place was somewhat calm right now, people in queues and orderly. Riley knew when the time drew nearer and seats were becoming harder to get, problems would surface “Right listen up..” he began. He gave a look around the area; people were being checked for injuries. His survivors had been checked, none were at risk. That was one less thing to worry about; at least he knew they’d get a seat if this went to plan. He set his gaze back on them “Things are moving slow right now, but I know that when the clock starts ticking, people are going to get antsy. I’m going to to talk to the other officials and see if we can get you at the front of the line, along with ourselves..the sooner we get out of here the better. Take a seat, relax..cleans yourselves up..but stay close..” Riley instructed before turning on his heel and heading toward the check point. If they were lucky things would go down without a hitch, however..Riley wasn’t all that lucky. “What do you mean no cut-ins..?” Riley asked with disgust. He was at the terminal now talking to an officer. He tried to keep his tone low so that he didn’t cause a scene but man was he pissed. “We have been given orders for first come first serve, you can’t cut in line..” the officer told him. Riley’s face dropped “This is bullshit, we came here to help..we have spots on that plane. I was told that we would be guaranteed a place on those planes..” he told him, his face was red with anger now. Riley glanced over at the survivors and his teammates who were not in earshot. He’d bought them here, this was his mission. They were promised a way out and now they had to queue up like everyone else. In some way it was fair but right now, fair could kiss his ass..he wanted out now. Riley took a deep breath and rubbed his hand against his face a little alerting that his stress levels had surely risen now. He sighed and looked at the stubborn soldier “This isn’t over..i’ll be back..” he told him with a pointed finger. A disheartened Riley returned to his team to break the bad news, which didn’t go down to well with the survivors. He hadn’t been on the receiving end of such abuse since when he first joined the force, he couldn’t make out what they were saying because they were all yelling over each other and some of it was Spanish which right now he cared very little to try and translate. He zoned out, he could see his team in silent disappointment. He felt like shit now. The survivors made their way to queue up along with some of the team. Riley sighed and turned taking a seat on the bench. Fuck, why had he decided to come here? It was such a mistake going into this without knowing all of the details. He felt like a fucking jackass about now. Word count: 1000+ Mood: awesome as ever bitch Attire: i'd assume some kinda military get up.. Comments: Tina is a sexual predator..

All of the excitement on the ambulance was almost too much to handle. The rag-tag group of survivors on board were less than savory in his mind, and one of them looked sick. Sick wasn't a good way to look, not really, not when Wyler had a gun and would blow the man's head off for the fun of it.
Hey, doc. Check that morose motherfucker out, would ya? I don't like the looks of him, not with all these nasty bastards running around eating people." Wyler said, grinning in a wicked sort of way. "Shut the fuck up, Wyler, we don't need your shit right now." Gamble said, and at that, Wyler only laughed. The opinions of someone like Gamble didn't really matter to him. In fact, no one had an opinion better than his own, in his mind.
He watched eagerly as four of the freaks chased the other ambulance up ahead, and laughed obnoxiously loud as each one of them went down without much of a fight. The doctor wasn't talking much, he noticed, and with that, he turned and looked at her. She was giving the man a full work up, at least, but when she noticed Wyler looking, she just scowled at him and got back to work.
"Yeah, screw you too..." He mumbled, and then he stopped paying all that much attention. They got to the air port a lot faster than he expected, especially since everyone was going on and on about how chaotic New York was turning. To him it just seemed better than usual, as there wasn't any traffic, no one to get in the way.
When they all unloaded from the ambulance and joined up with the other group, Wyler took the back of the line. He wanted to see it coming if something happened, might as well be the last one into any room they went into, he thought.
When Riley left the group, Wyler simply stood his ground, waiting for information. They were told they would be able to just get on the plane and go, but he knew that the world didn't work that way. Back home, he had gotten any and everything he had wanted, all he had to do was say the word. In this situation, he knew things wouldn't go so smoothly.
When Riley came back looking glum and disheartened, he knew what was happening. They were fucked, royally fucked. He knew it was only a matter of time before the crowd went totally insane, and with that, he knew they would initially be recieving alot of the drama and hostility. "I hate to be the one that has to say this... But I think we should really just get the fuck out of here..." Wyler whispered to Larsen, and with that, he knew that he would catch hell, but he really didn't care at that point.

Post by SFC. Erin Kendall on Sept 22, 2010 21:33:56 GMT -5
In all honest Erin did not know what to expect from this place. She was silent throughout the journey itself. She found herself going out of her mind with questions buzzing around. She tried her best to keep focus and to keep her head in the game because if she didn’t she wouldn’t last five minutes out here. Erin was a tough cookie at the best of times, she could handle anything. Of course, being away from her little boy so much had been a very difficult thing for her. She managed to get to see him most weekends but it wasn’t the same. Still, for now, she made it work. Right now, she wasn’t sure of the alternatives available.
When they’d arrived at the hospital they were greeted by a pleasant young British doctor. She had been here for some time and Erin could tell because she seemed to know exactly what she was talking about. The infected weren’t alike your typical sickies. No, as most sick people weren’t crazed. Most sick people didn’t lust for blood and carnage. Doctor Green told them about as much as she could; she still had a lot to learn about the outbreak here..they all did.
Erin didn’t like the situation too much right now. Erin was aware that most of the people who became sick or injured by the infected were going to become just that, infected. These people who were once living, breathing, normal citizens were now..well, she didn’t even know the words to describe them. They were like monsters. Half of the team went about creating a division within the hospital grounds, separating the sick and injured from the seemingly fine and dandy. She headed to the underground parking lot with Larsen and Glau. It was no better underground because the trio were caught in a situation that led to Erin shattering her elbow. She felt sick to her stomach, the pain was excruciating. It was like nothing she’d ever experienced before but she made do. She had to carry on.
The hospital’s condition got worse and as a result found the teams having to flee for their own safety. It was by far the most cowardly of options but at the same time, it was the smartest. They were sitting ducks inside that hospital. The transportation at this time wasn’t ideal, but it was better than nothing. Erin found herself seated in the back of an ambulance with two survivors, Alison and Larsen and Glau up front. She sat quietly. Her elbow ached. Doctor Green had given her a quick fix and a nice bunch of painkillers in case she changed her mind. Erin could have done with them right now but she knew taking them could put her in a worse spot then she was in now. So, she did without them.
The journey from A to B really hadn’t taken all that long, 15-20 minutes at the most. When they reached the airport she could already see that they were going to have trouble. The queues were horrendous. People were seemingly so desperate to get away that they could have likely been queuing for hours here and had only got midway within the line. She couldn’t blame them; it was every man or woman for themselves right now. Erin entered the airport with the rest of the team and clearly the authority a uniform once bought did not have such an effect anymore. For the first time ever, right now, Erin felt degraded. These people they looked at them as if they were scum. They were here trying to help and none of that seemed to gel with them. It made her wonder just what was going on in their heads. She could assume what kind of speculation had crossed their minds. No doubt something similar to her own. This situation was far too messed up. Someone must have known something before throwing them in the deep end.
They came to a stop and Riley took charge. Erin stayed quiet with her eyes focused on the man as he spoke as best as he could. She could tell right away that he didn’t have any idea toward what to do next; he was simply winging the whole thing. In most cases it was an admirable move but right now, winging just wouldn’t work. He pointed himself in the direction of the check points where other military officers were positioned. He was there for all of a few minutes; he’d looked confident on his way there but wore a completely different expression on the way back. Something was wrong.
Riley broke the bad news and her heart went out to him. He was trying his best but the survivors hadn’t seen it that way. They were promised safety and a ticket outta here and now it seemed it may not have been that easy to do. They were pissed. They had every right to be but Riley shouldn’t have been the one getting the backlash. The survivors weren’t the only ones pissed off right now as some of the team looked a little rumbled by the news. Erin kept her cool and watched as the team broke up, making themselves scarce for the time being.
Larsen was absolutely mortified; she’d never seen him so broken. With a concerned eyes she watched him take a seat “I hate to be the one that has to say this... But I think we should really just get the fuck out of here..." he whispered to Larsen. She was within close range and heard the whole thing. Erin sighed some and took the spot on the opposite side of Larsen “If only it were that easy..” she said pessimistically, it would be practically impossible to do this. “Everyone is in the same position here. If we try to jump the queue, if we try anything this whole place is going to erupt into chaos.” she stated the obvious while sharing a look with the two of them. It was true, if they pushed in, these people would begin to riot and be out of control and right now the controlled environment was the only thing they had working for them.
Erin placed a comforting hand on Larsen’s shoulder “You can’t give up. I know you Larsen and this means too much to you. Those people, your team..it means too much.” Erin said gently as a warm smile crossed her lips. It was hard to be optimistic right now but someone needed to try and level it all out. Getting to her feet she looked at the duo “Now, we have things to do..we don’t have time to be sitting around feeling sorry for ourselves..” she added. The brunette bobbed her head back motioning to the rest of the team who were in need of some guidance.

Post by SGT. Alison Taylor on Sept 23, 2010 10:15:48 GMT -5
As far as Alison was concerned, this job was alike any else she’d been on. This job was not any more or less dangerous than any other situation she’d found herself in, it sat that by the end of this day..that thought may have taken a complete change around. No one knew what to expect and if you asked her, what she had stumbled up on was alike nothing she’d have ever considered. This was by far the worst situation they’d ever been in. She’d have been lying if she’d said she was entirely focused on the matter in hand. Alison wasn’t, all she could think about was her family, her son. She hoped he was okay but she couldn’t be sure. She had no means of contacting any of them and only hoped they’d gotten out before all of this began. God she prayed they had made it. The hospital was there drop off point, the reason being that the medical staff could possibly enlighten them with some theories. When they got there, they met a young British doctor, Felicity Green. She didn’t have a whole lot to say, not anything that could help anyway but they appreciated her efforts. They got to work within the hospital which was in a worse situation then previously assumed and why not? it was a hospital anyway..this place was a hot spot for the infected. It didn’t come as much of a surprise when the infected began to break amongst the crowds of people and eventually the team was forced to abandon all together. Alison was disgruntled about leaving all of those people behind but as it stood there was nothing anyone could do. They had managed to get some survivors but not at all the target she had hoped for. For now, they could just do their best helping them out and if there transport was anything to go by it was better the numbers were low. Alison was sat in back with Kendall and some survivors, everything was silent. She felt unsettled sitting here in nothing but silence, but at the same time what could she say? Everyone had been through such traumatic ordeals that there wasn’t anything she could say to make it all better. Thankfully Gamble still had his sense of humour. Funny that really when she thought about it, Gamble was so quiet and reserved and unreadable and yet in the midst of this chaos he was able to find some part of him that still could crack a joke and prompt a smile from her. She grinned slightly shaking her head as he called over the radio. It seemed they had a spot of bother at the back there; Alison stood from her spot and walked to the doors peering through the glass panels outside. She couldn’t see much as it were but from the sounds of it, there were infected following. She could hear the continuous gun fires as Gamble and Glau dealt with the situation in hand. Besides the four to follow, the streets were pretty damn empty..which, was somewhat worrying. Where were they all? Once they’d reach LaGuardia the realisation really hit her. The queues inside were unbearable, how was it that all of these people were going to make it out? Alison knew probably half of these people if not a third of them would be left behind. There wasn’t enough room for all of them. It didn’t take a genius to further figure that one out. When they entered, Alison allowed her focus to move around her. There were so many people here, kids, adults..even pets. People just wanted to get out. But, no one was in any hurry to get the ball rolling, the troops were being very careful with the way they worked. Alison came to a halt when Larsen spoke up, she could tell that he wasn’t sure what was going to take place beyond this point but she had faith in him. He turned and walked toward the check points where military were surveying survivors and checking for wounds, deeming them safe or unsafe to pass on through the gates and board the planes. She stood at Gambles side and watched some of her fellow military men and women at work, her blue hues focusing on the situation in progress. “I can’t believe this, this whole situation is messed up..” she said honestly, her heart really went out to these people. Gamble nodded agreeing “I know. I can only hope that this all works out. You know, I can’t wait to see my little girl..” He smiled proudly; his daughter right now was the only thing keeping him going. She grinned turning her eyes toward him, she knew how that felt. She couldn’t wait to see her son, he was her everything. Her attention was drawn to Larsen when he finally returned. He told them what was going on, he explained how they were not going to be prioritised, that they had to queue up like everyone else. She felt her heart sink. This just went from bad to worse in all of five seconds. She shared a worried look with Gamble. The survivors took the news badly and began taking there frustration out on Larsen, each of them shouting over one another and all directed at him. She was speechless, for the first time ever..Taylor had nothing to say. The group broke off leaving Larsen, Kendall and Wyler at the benches. Taylor stayed behind some of the survivors with Glau and Gamble. She stopped and watched as they joined the queues. To say she wasn’t disappointed would have been a lie; she was absolutely horrified at this sudden realisation. She probably wasn’t going to get to see her son now. Alison took a deep breath; she bit her lower lip anxiously and eyed the queues. There was no way of this working in their favour. Rubbing the back of her neck she sighed and turned to face Larsen and the others again. Kendall was all for continuing on with their mission; the plan was to get out of here. They were going to get out of here one way or another. She gave a light shrug and nodded toward Larsen "What do you suggest we do? because from where i'm standing it appears the only choice we have is to queue up like everyone else here.." Alison stated the obvious, clearly she was bothered and she didn't try to hide her annoyance. She was fucking pissed right now. They'd been promised a way out. The Colonel better have prayed they didn't get out because if they did, she'd be paying that dirtbag a little visit. Gamble shrugged turning his gaze to the queues "Then we queue..it may not be what we wanted but it's a sure fire way of getting closer to our goal. What we got to lose?" he asked. He'd made his mind up and was practically on his way toward the end of the line now. Alison agreed and followed close behind him.

A lot of talk, some was funny, some wasn't. But he had been interested to see that the general consensus was that they would have to stand in a long ass line, like this was Disney world or some shit. That didn't sit well with Tony at all. Fuckin zombie apocalypses, and fuckin military propriety. He did care about the civilians, but he wasn't fooling himself either. This was not going to end well for the vast majority of people here. A long wait out of town was just the sort of thing that only made things worse for the intrepid heroes of this sort of situation. But the Sarges had given their orders.
"What do we got to lose? Only our lives." He smirked a little, knowing the others wouldn't appreciate his sense of humor. Or general lack of reverence for the rank thing. "We might as well make sure we have a lot of ordinance, cause this is gonna get worse before it gets better. If it gets better."

PVT. Daniel LewtenPVT. Thomas WilliamsLaGuardia Airport"Just a little bit further buddy, that's it..easy" Lewten said gently as he aided his friend along. They'd been on there way to LaGuardia when there truck was attacked by a large group of infected. Williams was injured in the process after tripping and smashing his knee against a crooked slab in the paving. The remainder of the team had left Williams to find his own way out of the chaos but Lewten and Bryson were not leaving there friend behind. Williams winced as he limped a little being guided by both of his military buddies who'd been nice enough to help him along. They were inside the airport now and there were so many people inside. Lewten helped Williams to a bench and easily sat him down. Williams wined in agony, throwing his head back. Lewten was sure he'd done more then just bump his knee but they'd had no time to check it. Giving Bryson a concerned look he quickly bared a brave smile for Williams and bent down in front of him "Lemme take a look?" he asked as he slowly bought his hands to the young mans trouser leg. He began to easily roll it up which caused Williams to jerk in agony. The blood was seeping down his leg, it had rolled from his knee to his shin, he knew this was bad. He shared another concerned glance with Bryson "It's okay..i know it's bad. Look, i appreciate what you guys are doing but honestly..you need to just get out of here.." Williams told them. Lewten shook his head "We're in this together, we came here together and we will be leaving together..isn't that right?" he directed at Bryson. Daniel turned to Williams again "We saw what happened, you fell down..we are all getting out of here, no one stays behind." he assured and slowly got to his feet. He glanced over his shoulder at the queues "We're gonna be here a while..you gonna be okay standing?" he asked Williams again setting his eyes on him once more. The young man nodded and placed his hands on the beach slowly rising up to his feet. Lewten grabbed the left side while Bryson would have to support his right side and began to help the young man toward the queues.

I won't last long
In this world so wrong.. [/size] Absolute insanity was probably the best way to describe Sarah Bryson's day so far. Hell in a handbasket was another apt description, hell Sarah could think of a dozen that may sum up the sort of day she was having..if she actually found the time to think. And how amusing, earlier that morning Sarah had been hoping for some action, now she had all the action she could handle and then some.. Someone had really fucked things up. There was no denying that. Man trying to make themselves into gods and curing the world or whatever fucked up excuse they chose to use. Something had gone horribly wrong and now the world was suffering for it and who was called in to take care of the mess? The military of course. Not that Sarah actually minded because if she could save some lives at the end of the day, then she did her job. But that didn't mean it wasn't frustrating just the same. Given that Sarah wasn't exactly a science-minded young woman, she couldn't even begin to understand what all had gone on in those damn research labs and hospitals but thanks to them, they were now dealing with a fuckin zombie invasion. Brilliant job guys, just brilliant... They had been on their way to the airport when their truck had been attacked by the infected, Williams had been the only one to be injured. Hopefully once they got out of the city and back to base, Williams would receive the care he needed. Looking at his ashen face now, Sarah had to wonder if he would even make it that far. The fear of infection was there of course, not the type of infection that could be helped with medicine but rather the infection that caused someone to wanna murder others. It hadn't been a bite thankfully, Sarah had assured the others on that but there was still worry because as far as they knew, there could be other ways for this thing to spread and they didn't want to be attacked by one of their own. So he was watched carefully, both for his own health and their own safety as well. Adler, their supervisor, seemed all too ready to leave Williams behind, saying that it was best for them. Sarah had disagreed, she didn't normally go against orders but Adler was an asshole anyway. Still a superior but an asshole nonetheless. "You'll be alright Williams." She said softly, seeing the fear in his eyes. He had been fully conscious when Adler had decided to leave him behind and it had been both Sarah and Daniel Lewton who had stuck up for him and chose to stay with him. Her words were echoed by that of Daniel Lewton, the only other one who had stayed with their injured friend. Said a lot about his character. Being that the military was in charge of the airport at the time, Sarah was confidant that they would receive safe passage out, especially with someone injured. She had a vain hope that she could explain away his injury and they wouldn't look on it with suspicion as Adler had, he was a man who could die if he wasn't taken care of, surely they would realize that. Her thoughts were broken by the sound of Williams telling them to leave. Shaking her head, she started to speak but Lewton echoed her sentiments exactly. All she could do was smile and nod at her two teammates before looking to Williams. "You can't get rid of us that badly, I mean come on, Daniel's jokes aren't that bad." Jokes weren't her strongest suit nor was the whole 'humor' thing but she made attempts every so often. Supporting William's right side, Sarah looked ahead at the crowds of people wanting to get out of there. It was pandemonium.

RILEY LARSEN LaGuardia Airport
Things just went from bad to seriously fucked up in a matter of minutes. How could he have been so god damn stupid? How could he think they’d have been prioritised here? Sure, the false promise of hope was something to go by but Riley should have known better. How else would they have been convinced to come here if not given the promise of being rescued at the end of it? It all made sense now. They had been deceived by their superiors. They were lead to believe that there act would be rewarded with a one way ticket out of hell and apparently, that wasn’t so. He’d bought his team here, convinced some of them because he believed what he had been told. Now he felt like a jackass and he felt terrible for the rest of those who were in this rut. He just hoped that they could overcome this, that his team mates could get out and not find their demise in this city. They had too much to lose to lose their lives here. There had to be another way. As it stood right now, Riley was far to cut up about it. He sat on the bench, in a daze. His eyes were out of focus as he stared at his feet. He wasn’t sure what to do or say right now, so he did and said nothing and just sat there with his tail between his legs. "I hate to be the one that has to say this... But I think we should really just get the fuck out of here..." Wyler whispered. Lifting his head up her narrowed his eyes on Wyler; he looked kinda pissed at the suggestion. For starters, how were they supposed to do that in the new found situation? Riley furrowed his brows, he opened his mouth to speak but Erin was quick to interject. “If only it were that easy..Everyone is in the same position here. If we try to jump the queue, if we try anything this whole place is going to erupt into chaos.” Erin spoke. She’d practically taken the words out of Riley’s mouth. She was right, if they tried anything, things would get so out of control. But, Riley couldn’t just sit here and do nothing. He had to get them out of here; it was the only thing he could think about. Sure, Riley didn’t have much to return to, he didn’t have a partner, kids..he was alone. Erin on the other hand had a son, he was damn sure she’d have loved a ticket out. He felt a hand crawl onto his shoulder. He glanced over at Erin giving a small but appreciative smile “You can’t give up. I know you Larsen and this means too much to you. Those people, your team..it means too much.” Riley simply nodded in agreement. He’d worked with her for some time now, she knew him better than anyone did and because of that she knew just what to say to bring him back to reality. He couldn’t sit around, this did mean too much to him. Giving up was not an option here. Erin arose from her seat and turned to him and Wyler, backing up as she spoke again “Now, we have things to do..we don’t have time to be sitting around feeling sorry for ourselves..” Erin pointed out motioning to all those people behind her, all those people they’d promised to help. Riley couldn’t help but muster a small smile. He took a deep breath and looked at Wyler “You want outta here, I guess you know what we’ve gotta do to make that happen..it may not be ideal but right now, it’s our only option” Riley said a little unenthusiastically. The idea of queuing annoyed the shit out of him, in everyday life he hated queuing and would have done anything to avoid it. When Riley moved toward the remainder of the group it became clear that they were thinking along the same lines as he was himself. Queuing was the only option right now. "Then we queue..it may not be what we wanted but it's a sure fire way of getting closer to our goal. What we got to lose?" He stumbled up on Gamble’s words "What do we got to lose? Only our lives...We might as well make sure we have a lot of ordinance, cause this is gonna get worse before it gets better. If it gets better." Riley stifled a laugh “It’s nice to see some optimism around here, we can always count on you to keep our spirits up..” joked Riley grinning. He turned to the rest of the team. He opened his mouth to talk but stopped when he heard a ruckus behind him. Riley turned his head gently gazing over his shoulder at the situation. There was a couple, a man and woman in their mid 30’s with two children. There were two military officers, one grabbing at the wife and the other the husband. They were separating the two of them “No let me go..get off me!” she screamed trying to wriggle free, the husband was trying to barge his way passed the officer to get to his wife and kids. The man was injured “Just go!” the husband shouted as he was easily escorted away from his distraught family. The crowds began to break up a little as another outburst occurred to the left of the first incident this time a little different. Someone was on the ground having what seemed like a convulsion. From the first incident it appeared that more were occurring from left, right and centre until the commotion was suddenly deafened by the sounds of gunfire. Civilians dropped to the ground covering their ears. Riley witnessed the open fire as bullets popped against the first mans chest, he’d been bitten then had suddenly changed like the rest and took a swipe at another civilian. They put him down like a dog in clear view of everyone else. From that point, all hell erupted amongst the crowds. There was screaming and shouting from every direction as civilians fled and people dropped like flies. Riley looked to the others as the queues began to break down. Without further hesitation Riley motioned toward the terminals and set forward toward them. None of them were injured or infected, some of the military were still evacuating while others tried to control the situation. They journeyed toward the terminal but were finding it a lot more difficult to reach through the hustle and bustle. It seemed in a matter of moments the once controlled situation was now over run by chaos and the infected were suddenly amongst them. Riley stopped; the only way out of this was to fight. Riley pulled a small handgun from his belt and began taking shots at the infected around them. Word count: 1000+ Mood: tired Attire: same old, same old Comments: killing mother fuckers is fun..

Wyler couldn't help but smile as Riley spoke back to him, telling him what he already knew, but didn't really want to face. They had to wait in line, like every day civilians. They had to wait like they were just common people. It really pissed him off, but more than anything, it made him sure of what he had already been thinking. They were royally screwed, and the situation was getting worse, meaning they were more than just screwed, they were as good as dead in his mind.
They moved toward the terminal, toward salvation, but he knew whenever all hell started breaking lose that they weren't getting on that plane. "Goddammit, everyone stay on your toes..." He mumbled, and then Riley started popping off shots like the terminal had turned into Vietnam.
Wyler pulled his hand gun out, holding it firmly in both hands, pointed down toward the ground as he scanned the crowd. An infected woman, about twenty three years old, made her way through the crowd, straight for Riley's back, and as soon as Wyler noticed it, he walked right past Riley.
The woman got closer, and as she did, Wyler hefted his gun up, aiming it between her eyes. She got closer still, and then let out a sort of moan, picking up speed, her arms extended toward him. "Die, you nasty bitch." Wyler whispered, and with that, fired off one round, sending her straight down to the ground and making her head resemble a watermelon after you hit it with a sledgehammer.
Soon enough, there were several of the infected all around them, attacking people in the crowd. Other military personel did their best to handle the situation, mowing them down as fast as they could, but it really wasn't enough. It seemed for every single one they killed, two more came into play.
Wyler took several shots, sending five or six of the infected straight to hell with ease. "Fuck..." He whispered, knowing that any breathe he took could be his last as a human being, and his first as an infected. He had, however, let his guard down in the thought, which was a huge mistake.
With that, an infected he thought he had dropped so easily latched onto his ankle with its right hand, trying to pull itself toward him, mouth opened and eager to rip his flesh from his bone. He freaked out, swinging his other foot around and kicking it straight in the forehead, forcing it to let go of him. He leapt back quickly, took aim, and fired, ending its miserable existence.

Erin left Wyler and Larsen and headed over to the others. They were going to queue that was the new plan now, queue up and see where that got them. Of course it wasn’t the idealistic plan they’d came here with but it was a decent last resort and it beat standing there fighting over options. This was the best thing to do right now, to be like everyone else for a change. Things for the time being were settled, there were orderly formations, queues were moving quicker now as people were being allowed to go through the terminals and board the planes so maybe, just maybe they wouldn’t be here all day. It seemed wishful thinking didn’t prevail these days because things turned sour.
Up ahead there was some commotion which Erin quickly looked toward on hearing. From on instant came another and so on and so forth and before they knew it, everything had gone belly up. Bullets were flying everywhere in all directions, bodies dropping like flies and everyone began to expand. The once orderly queues had diminished into hoards of terrified civilians running for their lives and here they were right now in the midst of it all.
They had no other option but to stand their ground and fight their way out of this jam. From there team Larsen was the first one to open fire, quickly followed by Wyler and then before she knew it the whole team were raining bullets down on infected civilians. Erin lifted her gun and began taking shots too. The terminal wasn’t far to get too but right now they had to fight their way toward them. She realised more were coming and from different areas and soon they’d be surrounded “Spread out!” she shouted and began distance herself a little continuing to open fire.
She could see a small unit up ahead, a trio of fellow military personal but one of them was injured. Erin looked toward them, there were less of them. She whistled at Larsen to notify him of potential back up and then began to make her way toward them with Gamble. They needed help. Riley and the others could handle the group there while she and Gamble would help Bryson, Lewten and an injured Williams. When they’d reached the trio they continued to help them shoot off the infected.
Kendall kept her gun raised and set her eyes slightly toward the female “What happened to him?” she asked calmly, she needed to know if it was a bite or not. She continued to fire awaiting an answer, if he’d been bit she was going to turn around a pop a bullet between his eyes because that’s what was needed.

She stood besides Glau and Gamble, they were going over there options and right now it seemed to leave them with one and one alone. They had to queue up. As much as Alison didn’t like the idea of doing so. She figured, there wasn’t much all they could do but potter about and hope for the best. It came to it now and the rest of the team seemed to be wavering on the same page. They had all chosen to queue and chance themselves and see where it got them which she was content with doing. If it meant she got to see her little boy again, she’d do anything. Alison watched as the others regrouped but almost instantly to doing so things began to stir amongst the crowds. She couldn’t pin point one particular incident as after one had occurred, others quickly followed in suit of the previous until the whole place had began to detour into disaster. Once, everything had been so under control, and now, everything was out of place and disorderly. It made her feel unsettled and caused the pit of her stomach to subside. She felt the butterflies rising up; she got an awful feeling from this situation. It was evident that it was only to get worse now. The sound of gunfire boomed against her ears and that alone was enough to cause a fucking riot. People were going berserk and not just the infected. Her team stood their ground firmly and began to take action against the infected that’d made themselves very much at home now. Alison kept her gun raised, her aim precise and popped rounds into the infected as they came storming toward them. Alison kept her finger on the trigger and pushed down continuously as rounds burst from the barrel and plummeted into the bodies of the infected. She grit her teeth as the sound boomed through the airport. No matter how many they took down, more seemed to come and she knew that things were not going to end well here. It became more apparent when she realised some of the military were aborting and running into the terminals to get away. Fuck! They were leaving without everyone! Alison’s eyes grew wide “Larsen!” she yelled nodding toward the terminals behind the infected where the gates were being closed. “No!” she screamed horrifically. They were going to be left here with these fuckers. No way was she letting that happen. Alison lunged forward and smashed the butt of her gun into the nearest infected guys face and made a dash toward the terminals. Some were close on her tail. Gamble saw this and instantly began firing at the infected. She got to the gates to have it closed in her face. Alison punched at the glass doors that were locked from the inside. She glared at the officer on the opposite end who’d sealed the gates. She was absolute distraught. Her eyes were frozen open; her expression fell blank as she simply stared at the now empty corridor. They were stuck here. Contorting her face out of anger she lifted her gun to shoot at the glass but felt a hand grab at her. It was Gamble. He shook his head “You don’t wanna do that. You see, you do and they’ll bounce right off and then you’ll be dead and I won’t be happy..” he told her in almost a whisper. He cocked his head backward motioning behind him “We need you and we need you strong..” Gamble pointed out. She was a part of this team, they were stuck here apparently and with that, she needed to pull her weight. Alison pulled herself free of his grasp and pushed passed him heading back toward the team. She got her gun ready and blasted the shit out of any infected that managed to cross her gaze. Boy was she fucking pissed right now.

PVT. Daniel LewtenPVT. Thomas WilliamsLaGuardia AirportLewten, Bryson and Williams were at the airport now. Williams was being supported by his two colleagues as the injury he’d sustained on his leg impaired his walking capabilities. There superior officer had left them behind when the shit hit the fan. Daniel and Sarah were not going to leave Tommy here, it wasn’t safe and they were a team. They’d checked over the wound and however bad it was, Lewten figured it would be an injury that would heal up in no time at all. Thomas wanted them to leave, he knew he wasn’t getting out of here with said injury and because of that neither of his team mates would. That’s why Adler left him. He was a weak link in the chain, though that opinion of him had never changed because as far as the team were concerned..Williams was just a little bitch. After checking him over he’d assured him that they would not be leaving him and had his words echoed by Sarah "You can't get rid of us that badly, I mean come on, Daniel's jokes aren't that bad." Sarah joked to which prompted a light chuckle from Thomas “His jokes are pretty unbearable actually..” he attempted with a weak smile; he was pleased she was trying her best to keep his spirits up. They both were. Lewten laughed and shook his head ”I’ll stop telling them, when you stop finding them funny..” he replied gently as he supported his friend with Bryson. They’d begun moving toward the queues now when everything got crazy. Lewten didn’t see quite well toward what started it but it seemed like someone had changed in amongst the crowd and when that happened gunfire erupted through the building. Williams jumped almost out of his skin as the gunfire boomed through the air. Daniel placed him back down on the bench, the infected had gotten inside. He stood his ground in front of his friend as protection because right now he was in no state to fight. He raised his gun and began shooting at the infected as they swarmed the place. He couldn’t see where the explosions of rounds were coming from right now because everywhere you looked there was movement. It wasn’t until a woman approached them that he realised there was another team here who were trying to get out. There team was much larger then there’s. “What happened to him?” she asked over the gunfire. He glanced at Williams then continued shooting “Our vehicle was attacked by a large group of the infected, ma’am. We got away but Williams fell down, it’s just a scrape..i can assure you..he is not infected..” he told her honestly as he continued to fire. Williams kept his eyes around him “Left!” he shouted at Lewten as one came from the side. He got his gun out and began shooting the side on comers to make his a little easier for the others. He heard someone shouting and narrowed his eyes, if was a blonde, another officer. The terminals were being closed. His eyes grew wide as he looked behind him at the planes where people were still getting on them. They were leaving “They’re leaving!” he shouted. No one seemed to care right now, the queues had broken up and people were spilling out all over the place. Everyone was fighting to survive, it seemed like getting out had no longer been there main priority. Dr. Felicity GreenLaGuardia AirportRight now getting out alive seemed to be something questionable. She wasn’t sure if she was going to make out through the next five minutes. So far things had been quiet, people were queuing in an orderly fashion and everything had been under control. All of that control did not take long to diminish into chaos. All it took was one incident to send everything in a downward spiral. Chaos ensued. She stayed close to the military; Dr Green did not and had never owned a gun. She’d never held a gun nor shot one. It wasn’t in her field of expertise. In conditions like this she was thankful to have someone like these military men and women on her side. She covered her ears and watched as people dropped to the ground after being pumped with bullets. All of which were infected. She couldn’t tell the difference though, she couldn’t see who was chasing or who were doing the running away so maybe it was a good thing she didn’t have a gun. Further to make the situation worse, the terminals were being closed and the planes were boarding. They were being left behind. Maybe she should have stayed at the hospital. By now all of their survivors had been washed away in the hoards of people trying to get out. Maybe they’d live or maybe not? All she knew was that they had not gotten on those planes. From what she could see, no one had gotten through after their arrival. Hundreds of people were now left to fight for their lives and search for another way out.

RILEY LARSEN LaGuardia Airport
No sooner did everything fall apart. This once controlled situation was now in tatters. There were bodies everywhere, bullets flying in all directions and from where he was stood..not a damn place to turn without bumping into the infected. They needed to get to them god damn terminals and fast. By now no one was focusing on using the terminals to get out, they cared very little for the planes that waited because right now everyone was running scared for their lives. Larsen noted the other team, a trio, two men and a woman and one injured. Kendall went over toward them to give them a helping hand. The firing continued and he could plainly see Alison drifting off toward the terminals, she wanted out of here and he didn’t blame her. Only, when she got to the terminals they locked the doors on her. He watched her banging like crazy trying to get in, to which Gamble headed over to calm her down. Riley focused on the task in hand, killing these sons of bitches. The more they took out, the more came to follow and they were being backed in a corner. Riley took a few more shots before slowly retreating; he let the others cover him while he looked for a way out or a place to be secure until they figured out what they were to do now. Alison and Gamble returned to the team as backup. Riley wondered how the JFK was looking about now. Would it be in the same conditions as they were? Maybe they could get out there. They had to know, but he didn’t want to drag the whole team on the streets again and now with one casualty on their hands..it was too dangerous. The upkeep of firing seemed to do some good after a while because numbers were decreasing. He turned to the team and yelled over gunfire “Gamble I want you to take a team, Glau, Taylor and Wyler. Head to the JFK Airport, I want to know there situation. We have a casualty on our hands, so some of us are going to need to stay behind. I’m going to stay here with Kendall and those three along, with Doctor Green.” Riley explained calmly, as he tossed the ambulance keys to Glau “When you get there, you let me know the situation, if it’s better than how things are here then we will come to you.” He added taking charge once more. Riley moved toward Kendall and the trio who were with her, he helped the young man to his feet and gave a nodded greet toward the female and the other young man. Larsen supported the injured guy and began to move with them through the airport toward one of the back offices. They’d sit tight there and give Dr. Green the ability to see to the patient with the injured knee. If she could fix him up good then they’d be able to leave with him as soon as possible. They were in a heavy rush now toward the communication office because the infected were still roaming about the place, they may not have been seen right now but they could be heard and the chaos still echoed around them. When they’d reached an office Riley pushed the door open, there was no one inside here. He helped everyone in before closing the door behind them and locking it shut. Williams was helped to a seat where Doctor Green would check his wound. Larsen took a deep breath and looked at the new faces. He extended his hand to the female “I’m Sergeant Riley Larsen, this is Sergeant Erin Kendall and Doctor Felicity Green..” he introduced motioning to the two females with him. “That was some good firing out there..” he smiled trying to break the ice a little. Though there was no reason for hostility, they were on the same team after all. Larsen moved toward the computers, they were still on and running along with the radio transmitters which he’d be able to use to contact the others. Riley moved to the window and could see the planes there, they hadn’t moved from the ground yet and some people were still getting on but the infected were oncoming toward them too. He turned away and looked at the others “I hope none of you are impatient, I have a feeling this is going to be a long wait..”Word count: 600+ Mood: tired Attire: same old.. Comments: I hate going to work..
