President James Adler President James Adler sighed deeply as he stared at a blank wall. That's all he ever looked at lately. That's all there was to see. James Adler was being held in an underground safe house. As soon as word of outbreak emerged, the secret service's plan of action went into effect. Priority One was the President. First the President and then his wife Layla, were immediately ushered into an underground safe room miles and miles underneath the White House. Though, to be honest, it wasn't really a safe room per se. It was more like an underground mansion. The sheer size and thought that had gone into this kind of plan was unimaginable. Though, to be honest, James wasn't sure if it had been planned with this in mind… Rather, it had probably been planned with a nuclear holocaust in mind. Whatever the case, President James Adler was somewhat thankful for those who had planned the bunker. The elder man just wished they'd thought to get a decorator once they'd finished. James pulled his tie tight and straightened it accordingly. It was habit really… Even though the President was underground and out of public eye, he still felt like it was his duty to look the part of president. The elder man grimaced slightly as he diverted his eyes from the false sunlight generator. It was part of the protocol of living underground. They needed to keep themselves adjusted. They weren't going to just curl up and die. No, they would persevere. James Adler smiled as the false shades closed. The elder man turned on his heel and eyed his assistant. "Is everything ready?" The young woman nodded slightly as she smiled at the president. James nodded in return and headed into the next room where he took his seat at his desk. Once more, James Adler straightened his tie and leaned back in his chair slightly. For a single moment, President James Adler closed his eyes and breathed in deeply through his nose before exhaling out his mouth. Then, the middle-aged man leaned forward and grasped the radio microphone firmly in his hands. He signaled his assistants, and as the main crew member signaled him, the President began to speak. "My fellow Americans… It brings me great sadness and displeasure to have to come to you like this. It is my wish to be able to reach all of you in this time of need… And not just those of you who still have functioning and operational televisions." For a moment, President James Adler paused and breathed for a slight second. "I come to you today, with a message of hope and perseverance. Even in the darkest hours, the bleakest moments of the day… I urge you all to keep moving and keep fighting."The President shifted his vision slightly before speaking once more. President James Adler spoke up again, directly into the microphone. "Help is coming. Remember that above all else. We will not abandon you… No… I will not abandon you. Scientists and technicians are working on a solution. We will find a cure and we will stop this horrific act before anymore damage can be done." Once more, the President paused as he collected his thoughts. For a moment, the President cleared his throat before speaking again. "Know that there are people working around the clock on a solution. Know that there are military personnel being dispatched constantly to help combat these threats. Most of all, I wish that you all keep in mind that you will not be abandoned."President Adler paused again amidst his speech as he allowed himself a moment to breathe. "You will not be forgotten. We will not just roll over and die. Admitting defeat is not an option. I promise you this, my fellow Americans. Do not forget it, because I will not break this promise. Help is coming. Keep fighting, keep living and above all else keep surviving." With that, President James Adler leaned back in his chair once more as the feed was cut. The weary and worried president sighed slightly as he let his hands run through his hair. All President James Adler could do right now was wait…
