You say 'bitch' like it's a bad thing
The Bronx, New York City
Fuckin hilarious...
The whole situation was just so funny to Cassie which showed exactly what kind of a person she was. No, she didn't like seeing people being eaten by brainless zombies that hungered for human flesh but there was definitely some satisfaction in knowing that she had been right the whole time. She hadn't been the crazy one cause she had taken precautions in keeping herself safe and ready for the impending zombie uprising. It didn't matter how it had happened, the uprising, all that mattered was that it had and more importantly, that she owed just about everyone she knew a big fat "I TOLD YOU SO" if they weren't being nommed on at the time.
Brushing her hair back from her face, Cassie walked out of Haven with a fully loaded shotgun in hand. She had two hand pistols in holsters at her waist, plenty of ammo as well cause she was doing the stupid thing of heading out of the safety of Haven to look for survivors to bring there. It had been built to protect people and there was a lot of room inside. Not that Cassandra had really been the one to think of actually rescuing people, that had fallen to Mason who had prompted his older sister into doing the right thing. It wasn't easy to say the least but deep down Cassie was a good person who wanted to help.
Haven hadn't been discovered by anyone because of it's location beneath the Bronx. Walking over to the ladder that led upwards to a manhole, Cassie made sure that nothing was passing over it before pushing up on the lid and pulling herself up. What she saw was what she had been expecting, nothing surprised her. It was as though she had come upon a war zone, people running and screaming in terror. From what Mason had said before she left, most of the insanity was in Manhattan which meant that she'd eventually have to make her way there but for now she'd have to try and clean out the Bronx which would not be easy since one never knew who had been infected until it was too late. It'd be easier just to shoot everyone but that seemed a bit counter-productive.
There was a lot about these zombies that she didn't know about yet, she figured that a bullet to the brain was one way of stopping them but there was other methods she wanted to try. Decapitation, burning them, best to know what was most effective and what didn't do shit at all. Cocking her shotgun, Cassandra took to the streets of the Bronx and grinned as she came across her first flesh eating zombie who was literally chowing down on some fat businessman's arm while he cried out in pain. He was a lost cause even if he lived through that, he'd be infected and she'd be damned if she'd let him wander around killing people as well. Taking aim, she shot the shotgun and killed the businessman first. One might think her to be heartless but that wasn't the case, she was simply doing the fat man a favor. Needless to say, she got her target and his head was all but shot off due to the power of her weapon and the splattering of blood and bits of brain caught the attention of the zombie who had been chowing down on him.
Cassandra grinned at the zombie as it focused on her. It had once been a young man, possibly in his late twenties and there might have been a time that he looked good but now he just looked like shit. It groaned as it looked down at it's now dead meal and than back at Cassandra as though trying to figure what meal was better. "Come on baby, you know you want me." She said as she cocked her gun yet again. It mattered little what the thing chose to do, it was going to lose either way. After a few moments of slow deliberation, the zombie began to make it's way over to Cassie, not realizing that that was what she wanted.
Taking close aim, she waited till it wasn't almost upon her before she fired off another shot, putting a big ol hold right through it's forehead. It wobbled around a bit before it fell over on the ground dead. Two down, about a million to go... Joys.
