Looking at her you’d have never thought that Bonnie Lomax was actually scared right now. When all of this had occurred, Bonnie had been a part of a large group who’d’ had each other’s backs. But, over the past two weeks the group’s numbers had begun to decrease mostly due to fatalities and others being stranded in various parts of NY after going on a scavenger hunt for supplies. Eventually all that were left of the original group were Bonnie, her cousin April and her on/off boyfriend Zeke.
Zeke took the liberty to go hunting for supplies again and gas which he’d need to get his broken down vehicle moving again...he never returned. During a night the infected got into the place where April and Bonnie were held up and April was bitten. Bonnie managed to fend them off and took April with her, she lasted around four days before changing and Bonnie had to kill her. Now the young woman was alone.
She had set up home on the roof of a local store, a jewellery store as it happened which gave her an advantage due to the security bars; it made breaking in harder for the infected and proved a rather safe place for her to be hauled up in for the time being. Zeke had kindly left her with his father’s rifle, which meant if she needed to pick those things off at a distance she could. Bonnie also had a few bottles of liquor, some rags, a few lighters, a couple of knives and a Glock which was left behind after Benji had been killed. She had a good amount of ammo to keep her going, but like everything else..it would eventually run out.
She was seated on the roof, her legs hanging over the top. She had the rifle lying by her side whilst she puffed on a cigarette. She wasn’t a fan of smoking, but lately she’d needed something to take off the edge. Taking a deep drag, she blew some of the smoke from her lips and let her eyes scale the floor below. There were a few infected moving about looking for food, but not any packs as far as she could see. Those things alone were easy to pass but two or three of them together served as a challenge.
The raven haired teen stopped, her eyes narrowing onto the street ahead. There was a man, a young man carrying a bag. She leant forward a little, hoping to get a better look at him. Whistling would draw attention; firing would draw attention and not the kind she wanted. So, Bonnie had to think of a way of getting his attention without drawing the infected to her or to him. Flicking her sig away the brunette jumped up, taking her rifle and dashed across the roof, pulling the strap across her chest she let the rifle hang their freeing her hands so that she could use them.
Taking a bottle of liquor she broke the cap off with her teeth and spat it out. Bonnie pulled one of the rags out of her bag and stuffed it into the bottle. Taking her Zippo she flicked the lid open and walked across the roof toward the edge. Holding the bottle up, she lit the end of the rag and watched it burn for a moment or so before launching it off the roof. She’d learnt this trick from Zeke and it had saved her ass more than twice now, those things really didn’t like being set alight. The bottle flew from the roof and hit one of the infected, dousing him with flames which quickly spread along the ground due to the liquor spilling out. She hoped the flying Molotov would have gotten his attention, if not the fire would.
She waved her hands slightly as if silently trying to lure him toward her. No one was safe running around out here on their own. Bonnie waved her hands continuously as she walked toward the left side of the roof where there were some ladders above Zeke’s broke down motor. He could use the car as leverage and climb up that way...thankfully the infected were too stupid to know how to climb.

Rule number one of zombie survival, do not run out of food. That was exactly why Daniel had right now taken the chance to get out of his apartment. He had of course made sure everything was secured properly before leaving. A gun was secured in his belt and a knife secured in the same belt ready for defense if needed. He was no fighter but survival was of out most importance, and for that he couldn't go unarmed.
Daniel had decided to wear darker clothing in case he had to stay out for longer than he expected, the bag he was carrying was no exemption to the color choice. The dark clothing would help with camouflaging him if he stayed out after the dark. Albeit he doubted it would help all that much, but he had to prepare for everything just in case. Yes, just in case he had to remind himself of that. He HAD to do things just in case, always go with the worst case scenario.
Daniel was aware that where he was moving wasn't completely empty of infected. But he had made sure there was no packs in the near vicinity. Packs were the dangerous part of this. He could take on a single infected if need be and he could do that relatively fast, if there was more than one; then it started to become a problem. Daniel hadn't noticed that there was someone on the rooftops, he had not looked up there since he knew that infected were too dumb to reach there through the normal means.
But the moment something was set ablaze he became aware of the presence of humans on the roof. He glanced up for a second, then quickly looked for a way up there. It didn't take long before he found it. Quickly jumping up on a car; without as much as a thought going to avoiding damaging the car, he used the car to jump up and grab some ladders which he then hauled his ass up on. He then proceeded to make his way up there to the rooftop.
"Thank's for the heads up, I hadn't expected to see any survivors around here" Daniel said politely after he had made his way up onto the roof. Not that he was expecting a no problem in return he was merely being polite. Anyhow he looked at the woman to get a good impression of who he was dealing with now, there was no doubt that she knew how to handle herself; most survivors did, the question was just what kind of survivor was she.

Relief washed over the young woman as the man from below had caught sight of her. She didn't have any qualms about him or any concerns of his well being. Bonnie was just grateful for the company right now. Being alone was tough, she missed Zeke, she missed her friends and this guy was also alone. They were better off in groups or pairs, because being alone like this would do nothing but drive the woman insane.
She took a step back as the man began to make his way toward the building. She watched him cross the street and narrow toward her, as he came closer, she walked to the edge of the roof again keeping her eyes on him and in a way watching his back in case those things came after him. The street was empty right now, but often those things came out of nowhere.
Bonnie continued to watch as the man climbed on top of a vehicle and began to scale the building, where she helped him up by reaching her hands out and aiding in him climbing to the top having clambered up the ladders first. "Thank's for the heads up, I hadn't expected to see any survivors around here" the young man said. Bonnie was able to get a better look at him now, he didn't look like the type who'd gut you if given a chance but then again...looks could be deceiving.
She mustered up a smile, shrugging nonchalantly before replying "That's okay. I'd have expected you to do the same, it's not safe walking around on your own down there." Bonnie told him as she slowly urged the man to follow her away from the edge of the roof and into the middle where she had set up camp as it were. She turned and extended her hand out to him "I'm Bonnie..."

Daniel got up on the roof and thanked the inhabitant of said roof for making him aware of her presence. She could very easily just have allowed him to walk on, heck she could have taken him out so she could steal what little rations he had gathered by now; by not doing so it told something about her. It told him one of two things were possible. 1: She was so lonely that the company of a stranger would be enough to satisfy the need to have someone to share emotional input with, or 2: She wanted a meat-shield for later. As by default he went with the later just in case. Daniel wasn't exactly the best person for the first option, nor psychologically, nor fleshly and therefore preferred the later option.
"That's okay. I'd have expected you to do the same, it's not safe walking around on your own down there."
"You are right about that." Daniel said. "Though I haven't had the luck to find any trustworthy people to group up with. It seems most of the survivors I find is greedy selfish bastard type." Daniel said though he send a little smile in her direction. She didn't seem to be the selfish type, but looks could be deceiving even he knew that.
"I'm Bonnie..."
"And I am Daniel, it's a pleasure meeting you." Daniel said politely as he shook the hand that Bonnie had extended out towards him. She for all intends and purposes seemed like a pleasant woman. "So, are you alone around here, or should I expect other survivors?" Daniel asked, he'd like to know if there was other survivors in this particular area, and he would even more like to know what sort of people they were if there was. Daniel was to be honest not all that knowledgeable on this part of the area so he had to ask someone who was, and Bonnie was the closest person that could possibly be.

Bonnie Lomax was more than happy to have some kind of company right now. The young woman was tired of being alone. She was the last of her group... Everyone else had either abandoned her in a sense or died. Zeke, April, Benji. Each of them had either been bitten and turned into one of these hell-spawns or they had left and never come back. Bonnie missed them all. The young woman had hardened even more than ever over the course of her time in this hellish apocalyptic pit of a world. Bonnie didn't like being alone. It made surviving harder and living in this world, you couldn't afford to do anything the hard way. You had to find any short cut or something to make your life a little better in anyway possible. The way this world was right now... It was like watching New York City burn to the ground and not being able to do anything about it. Bonnie wasn't sure what to do most days, so she focused on the one thing she'd been pretty good at: surviving.
As Bonnie helped the other lone survivor up onto the rooftop she smiled slightly. His name was Daniel and he actually seemed to be a nice person, which was a change from most of the douches she'd come across in her time in this hell-hole. The guy was polite, which was different for a change. Bonnie smirked slightly as she eyed him. How'd he manage to survive this long? "Just me... Everyone else has gone by now..." For a moment, Bonnie paused slightly. "Loneliness is a bitch, y'know?" For a moment, Bonnie paused again as she eyed the scrawny looking guy up and down once more. "So come on, let's get the boring repetive shit that you get tired of telling everyone out of the way." Bonnie smirked slightly, wondering how Daniel would take her blunt attitude. "What's your story?"

"Just me... Everyone else has gone by now..."
Daniel nodded understandingly. What she said could be interpretted in two ways. Everyone could be gone as in dead, or they could be gone as in they all decided to pack their things and try to get out of there. He really hoped for the later, but it was far from likely that they would be alive by now, unless they got out. If they did that would just cause more concern for him, because if they had gotten out, maybe a zombie would have too, and then... He had to stop his thoughts from over analyzing the situation and the possibilities, there was too many variables for now.
"Loneliness is a bitch, y'know?"
"Yeah, I know" Daniel nodded slightly. He had to admit the people he loved were far away from him. It hurt him not to be able to be there for them especially now when danger is looming around like this. It was frustrating to say the least.
"So come on, let's get the boring repetive shit that you get tired of telling everyone out of the way. What's your story?"
"Well, it's a boring one, or a hilarious one. Depends on your kind of humor." Daniel said looking at the woman. He was aware that she had eyed him a fair few times. Probably because he didn't exactly look like the sort that would survive this kind of thing, but he was a bloody fighter when it came to survival. "I slept through it. I was taking a nap at work, because it had been one of those long days. When I awoke all Hell had broken lose." Daniel paused expecting some sort of laughter from the woman. "And I have just been trying to survive since." Daniel looked at her, curiously before saying. "Now i have shared my story, I think it is only fair that you share yours now." He smiled while waiting for the woman to speak.

Being alone in this crap infested hell hole was not Bonnie's ideal image of a good time. The young woman didn't like to be alone. Not after everyone who had been with her had gone. No, it wasn't like that for Bonnie. Bonnie had been with some of her closest friends... And one by one they had either left her or been killed by those infected zombie freaks. Being alone had it's perks, Bonnie supposed. Being able to say or do whatever the hell you wanted to... Or the fact that you didn't have to answer to anyone... Both very important, valuable facets of Bonnie's life right now... However, the one thing that killed her was not being able to talk to anyone. People weren't meant to be alone and that hurt Bonnie most of all. She didn't like to be alone. Being lonesome took its toll on Bonnie and the fact of the matter was that Bonnie was more than eager to have someone to talk to. Sure, it might've been a little nice to be alone without anyone to bother her... But that was just Bonnie's way of reassuring herself that everything was okay. Deep down inside, Bonnie was definitely still eager to be in someone else's company.
Bonnie was more than delighted to see someone coming her way... Sure, he seemed a little dopey... But then again, a lot of people were. He must've not had been that stupid if he'd survived for this long. Bonnie smirked slightly as she warned him of the infected surrounding her rooftop. He sneakily made his way towards the ladder and once at the top Bonnie helped him up. The guy was kind of scrawny looking, but he definitely did have a way about him. Bonnie wasn't entirely surprised he'd survived, just by the look of him. He seemed to be pretty quick and swift... Two very good qualities for surviving this hell hole. Daniel explained that his story was boring... or hilarious depending on who you were. Bonnie eyed him skeptically for a moment, unsure of how things could've been funny. But once he explained himself, Bonnie couldn't help but to smile. The young woman bit her lip slightly to hold back her laughter. "Sorry..." For a moment, Bonnie shook her head as he eyed Daniel. "You slept through it...? Shit, and I thought I'd heard it all..." For a brief moment, Bonnie paused as she eyed Daniel slightly. "Me? Nothing special... Was with my friends... Now they're either all dead or on their own, meaning they're probably dead too..."

"Sorry... You slept through it...? Shit, and I thought I'd heard it all..."
Daniel nodded knowing just how dumb that sounded. He was a tight sleeper, it didn't wake that easily when he had been at work. Luckily it seemed to be different when he didn't have to think of work, he had become very easy to wake up, with all the zombies and shit around. He couldn't afford not to wake up at any 'different' sound he heard. "Yeah, I was as surprised as you, when I realized what had happened" Daniel said, okay he had been more grumpy than surprised when he had realized that the zombies had become real. But what could he say, it hadn't been the best of days at work, that day.
"Me? Nothing special... Was with my friends... Now they're either all dead or on their own, meaning they're probably dead too..."
"You never know. Just because they might be alone doesn't mean that they are dead." Daniel said reassuringly. He felt he couldn't come here and be the pessimist, it would be impolite, plus he didn't want to bother with a crying woman. "Heck, if I can survive on my own, I am sure they can too" Of course he didn't know age, profession or anything like that about the people which he spoke off; and those things had a huge part to play during this kind of situation. But, he had to at least 'look' hopeful, he owed the woman that.

"You never know. Just because they might be alone doesn't mean that they are dead." Daniel reassured. Bonnie nodded some, as she leant back in her seat. She dug her hand into her pocket taking out a pack of smokes "..Maybe not, but you have to admit it's highly unlikely that they're still in one piece." she stated, it was okay..honestly, she wasn't about to fall apart now, she'd been in tougher jams then this for sure.
"Heck, if I can survive on my own, I am sure they can too" He added. She smirked some "Zeke is pretty tough to be honest.." she began, she sat up in her seat, a smile covering her lips as she spoke about him "He taught me how to make a molotov, they come in pretty handy...as you've seen." she gestured toward the end of the building where she had launched her previous fire bomb. She offered the pack of cigs to him so he could take one. She hated smoking, but it kept the edge off.
She stuck a cig between her lips and shrugged "Maybe you're right, maybe they're okay. But on the flip side, maybe there dead or worse still...infected. I've seen it happy, the fever burns right up inside of you and...before you know it, you're one of them, lurking around hungry for human flesh." She trailed, she lit her cig and took a deep drag. After a moment she blew out the excess smoke and turned to look at Daniel again "..What about you? You been going about this road all by your lonesome, or have you lost people too?" She asked curiously.
