Personality-
When his work hat is on, Warren's a professional bullshitter who could probably sell a pair of sneakers to a mermaid. Well, so to speak. His uncanny knack for 'getting' people and working them in just the right way has contributed heavily to his success as a marketing rep, even if the same success didn't extend to his former company. Warren is a shameless opportunist who puts himself first, even if he does still show a great deal of compassion to others at times. Then again, one might always question his sincerity. As a salesman, he's confident, wily, and damned effective. This is precisely why despite his former company's bankruptcy, he was sought after for marketing purposes by Diamond Corp.
On a personal level, Warren is a very carefree spirit who loves to laugh and smile, when the occasion actually permits. He doesn't care to be involved in any drama, hates arguing and fighting with others, and grows squeamish with violence. He's a bit of an evasive personality who'd rather exhaust every escape route before facing something he fears, whether it be a drooling cadaver, or a particularly uncomfortable topic of conversation. He is perhaps drawn to the path of least resistance more often than not, though that's not to say that he's lazy. Quite in fact he'll work quite hard in his efforts to slither effectively. Warren can sometimes be indecisive and uncertain, often changing his mind, and simply doesn't do commitment too terribly well.
That said, he's a very outgoing and affectionate individual who loves to make friends, have fun, and live life. Although he certainly has no desire to end his life any time soon, zombie apocalypse or not, he'd much rather put a revolver to his head than become one of those... things! For this reason alone, he keeps a gun with which he has bothered to load only a pair of bullets, despite his distaste and aversion toward violent means. Even if Warren isn't always honest, and might even be manipulative at times, he typically means well and almost never aims to harm anyone. With things in the state that they are, he's still in many ways in quite a bit of denial, and is primarily preoccupied with, believe it or not, keeping his own skin intact.

History-
Warren was born in St. Louis, Missouri to newly-wed Andre and Danielle da Silva. Two years later, his baby sister Mona would follow him into the world. In his early childhood, Warren saw little of his father, who put in long shifts at the plant. It was left primarily up to Danielle to care for the siblings, motivate them, teach them a basic compass, and so forth. Warren was always energetic, playful, and fun-loving. He never got into serious trouble, but certainly got up to his own fair share of mischief. As he grew older, life began to grow more complicated as things started to change.
By the time he was eight, his father had become much more present around the household, and empty liquor bottles became somewhat of a common bit of the scenery. Although Andre certainly had a love for booze, he was what one might call a 'happy drunk'. It was around this time that the hairline fracture in his and Danielle's relationship would begin to grow. For whatever reason, his schedule at work had become less and less generous on the hours, and over a six-month course of time, he was eventually laid off. While this gave him even more time to spend out and about with his diverse taste in vices, it also gave him much more free time to spend at home, and it was around this time that Warren began to truly get the chance to bond with his father.
As Warren grew older and was allowed to stay up later, he and Andre would spend a lot of time together, mostly playing console games and such. He didn't seem to be in much of a hurry to seek new employment, which shifted a great deal of financial burden onto a very dissatisfied Danielle. Warren was oblivious at the time to their differences, and enjoyed having his father around more. As he grew older, they grew quite close. Somewhere along the way, Warren seemed to get the vibe that his father had been running from something earlier in life. Regardless of any struggles the family faced, this was a very fun and carefree period for little Warren. Meanwhile, Mona was quiet and focused, one might even say oddly stoic for her age.
By the time Warren was thirteen, he was used to the company of his jovial, seldom-sober father, so Andre quickly noticed when things began to go bad for Warren at school. An unpleasant locker room incident led to a lot of teasing and bullying, putting a large target on Warren's back. It became a struggle for Danielle to even convince the boy to go to school at times. While he certainly had his father for support, Andre's best advice was to approach the biggest bully and knock out his teeth-- an idea that certainly didn't appeal to a scrawny and passive boy like Warren. In retrospect, Danielle might have taken action with the school to counteract the bullying directly, but due to the rift between herself and Andre, there wasn't a lot of communication. In truth, Andre didn't truly take the bullying too seriously, but things only became worse for Warren as time went on.
Warren was fourteen when things got so bad for him that he became seriously depressed. Over time, he withdrew into a shell, and dreaded school so much that his anxiety would often cause insomnia and even nausea. Somewhere along the way, he admitted to Andre that he thought he'd be better off dead, and this led to the most serious conversation he'd ever had with his father. Andre took his time telling a long and involved story about his brother, Warren's deceased uncle Felipe. Felipe had been known by numerous friends and family for his charisma, infectious laughter, and boundless creativity. No one saw Felipe's suicide coming, and even after he'd taken his own life, he'd left nothing behind to so much as explain himself. Despite this, it was well known that Felipe had struggled as a gay teenager in America. Something clicked into place for Warren at this point, and he know that if nothing else, he had to trust his family.
The relevance of the story was alarming, considering the nature of Warren's bullying at school... and he found there was no more appropriate time to come out to his father. The next day, and with Andre's reassurance, he came out to his mother too. Danielle seemed to take it all in with much the same coolly-composed acceptance that Andre had, her most serious complaint perhaps being that she'd always expected that Warren would have had some truly beautiful kids. At this point, with both parents fully on-board with accepting Warren the way he was, a huge burden had been lifted from the boy's shoulders. Unfortunately, this did nothing to curb the bullying at school. Near the end of the school year, Warren's grades and attendance had suffered so badly, neither Danielle nor the school seemed to object much to his more or less taking the last two months off.
Warren took the summer to relax and recouperate, spending most of his time at home or with the few friends from school he still trusted. In this time, he grew much closer to his sister Mona, who had actually done so well in her previous two years that she'd been given a chance to skip the eighth grade. Though Warren spent the summer dreading the next school year, he'd soon find that it wouldn't go at all like he thought it would. Mona had become Warren's biggest supporter in ways he'd only soon come to see. She sat with him on the bus and at lunch, and when trouble came to Warren once more, she made one hell of a statement to the entire student body. Bart Heinzman had been Warren's most obsessive antagonist the previous year, and the moment he stepped out of line, Mona struck out with the ferocity of an ambush predator lying in wait.
The moment Bart got physical with Warren, Mona knocked three of his teeth out with her food tray, and sent him off crying like a baby. For all Warren's aversion to confrontation, Mona had none. Though she'd always been quiet, Mona was a very headstrong and virtually fearless personality, and the boys who'd tease Warren weren't so inclined to get physical with little Mona. Warren hardly minded what people thought of him for letting his sister fight his battles-- he was only greatly relieved to be rid of the headache. Though incidents did continue, they gradually grew less and less severe, and so did the necessity of Mona's interventions. Things began to take a much more positive turn for Warren.
Meanwhile, home life was becoming a sticky matter. The marital differences between Danielle and Andre had become a schism to divide the household. Danielle soon reached the threshold of her patience for Andre's inability to seek or maintain lasting employment. She'd grown as tired of cleaning up after him, and tired of his unmotivation. When Andre packed up his things and left, it seemed only natural to assume that his failing marriage had been the reason for his sudden departure. Despite this, he'd come to wake Warren before leaving, and left the boy with a puzzling goodbye that left Warren wondering if whatever he'd been running from had caught up with him. Either way, Danielle took on a second job, and life around the house changed once more.
More than anything, Warren felt the absence of his father, because he'd already become used to his mother working to pick up the slack. More than ever, Mona and Warren had each others' backs, whether in regards to boy troubles or in covering for each others' shenanigans and misadventures. Warren had also become much more outgoing and popular at school, but he lacked his sister's direction when graduation came about. It was just a few weeks afterward when he'd received a manila envelope filled with material for a business school in New York, along with an encouraging and apologetic letter from his father. Andre insisted in his letter that he had 'friends' who'd have a career ready and waiting for Warren once he graduated. Although Warren felt a bit of resentment torward the idea of having his life planned out for him, he had no better idea at the time.
College was college. Despite no longer having Mona around to bludgeon haters, Warren had few significantly unpleasant experiences to speak of. The worst of them involved parties and alcohol. After several particularly bad hangovers, he decided that alcohol simply sucked and wasn't right for him. To this end, he resolved to stick to the tried-and-true recreations of his teenage years. He did well academically, and his graduation was a welcome opportunity to see his mother and sister again, although his father remained absent. As if they'd been waiting for him, a company known as Aura Allied sent out a representative to interview Warren and set him up with an entry level position. This was when Warren truly had the opportunity to shine.
Mostly focused on health-oriented beverages, Aura Allied gave Warren plenty of opportunities to use his engaging personality to push the product. After several years, he'd moved up beyond simple salesman stuff, organizing campaigns and participating in important meetings, but when the company made a bold pharmaceutical venture, it didn't pan out so well and it left the company more or less depleted of the funds it would need to continue. Much to his surprise, Warren was soon out of the job, but his resume with Aura Allied made him a choice candidate for the much more developed and successful Diamond Corp, which quickly put him to work. Warren soon discovered just how different it was marketing for pharmaceuticals, but he adapted quickly and continued to contribute a key role to his team.
He was quite pleased with his life, having a place on Staten Island not far at all from the workplace, and making a comfortable living for himself. When the company began to cook up its latest and ultimate product, he was especially excited to be a part of the marketing and publicity involved. Due to his engaging personality, he was an ideal candidate for appearing on a talk show to discuss the product. When Immunex was finally released, he appeared on several commercials with a convincing pitch or three to raise interest in the consumer. All was well in Warren's productive and drama-free world until the day the prison contacted Diamond Corp. Warren knew and dealt with little in regards to the testing and development of Immunex, so as things began to spiral out of control in the city, and his world was soon turned up-side-down... he hardly understood why. As people became infected by the product and began to spread disease to others, he was soon overwhelmed with fear-- not just of the outbreak, but of being recognized by people from his TV appeaances as a responsible party.
Now, his primary concern is survival, and he is quickly discovering that his many troubles have only just begun.
Anything else?- Not presently

Lina's Bar & Grill had quickly become one of Warren's favorite places to grab a bite to eat soon after his move to Staten Island. It was close to work, it was close to his apartment, it was typically quiet, the employees were nice, and the food was always, always good. They also served a variety of coffee items, which Warren hardly needed... but he was far more inclined to take a cappucino than some shot of liquor that would just make him feel ill. Today though, he didn't need help feeling ill. The TV over the bar was playing a talk show re-run, covering his very own interview with Cadence Riddell.
Cadence was a doctor first, but her medically-orientedtalk show had become the focus of her life, and she'd become something of a celebrity for it, gathering all sorts of medical advice, information, and breakthroughs to cover on her show. It seemed a little late to be running the show on Immunex, though... considering the product seemed to be having some problems. "That's why people should seriously consider looking into our product," Warren heard his own voice rattling on, and wished he could shut himself up. "Consider all of the bills you'd accumulate over the course of your life due to a wide range of illnesses that could all be prevented. It's like my grandma always said, prevention is the best medicine!"
What a load of bullshit. Warren had never even met his grandmother. "Do you believe this shit!?" the guy tending bar threw his arms up in outrage, shaking his head, and Warren uncomfortably took his hat from the table and fitted it back over his scalp, letting the bill shield his face.
"That's certainly sound advice, Mr. da Silva, and I've said it for years myself. I think the biggest question about the product that remains is," Cadence brushed back her pretty blond hair and looked toward the camera, "Just what kind of side effects can we expect from a product that prevents virtually any illness or malady?" she asked, and Warren-- TV Warren, shrugged in his blurple suit and with the smuggest smirk, replied, "None. There have been plenty of tests to show that the product is perfectly safe. Immunex works by stimulating the immune system directly, which can have universal health benefits." he explained, and Cadence nodded accordingly, regarding the camera once more, "Well, its time for our next commercial break--"
"I'd beat the shit out of that guy..." the young bartender's comments gave Warren cause to cringe in his seat.. It was no secret that consumers of the product had been developing a wide range of severe problems since the release, and Warren never felt more regretful to be himself. Leave it to Warren to look as though he actually knew what he was talking about on TV despite the fact that he wasn't remotely inclined for medical knowledge beyond what was called upon for doing his job. Lina's was quickly becoming a very uncomfortable place for him. Fortunately, Warren in his suit looked like an entirely different person than Warren in leisure. In his black-and-neon-printed shirt, cap, hoodie, jeans, and sneakers, he hoped like hell the disgruntled employee wouldn't recognize him-- or anyone else in Lina's at the moment for that matter.
He'd been regretfully distracted, alarmed when his eyes met the sight of an older Asian woman sitting the next booth over. He didn't even remember seeing her come in, but found himself quickly unnerved both by the sight of her, and by her fixed, distant stare. She sat with food ignored in front of her, emaciated and pale, and a brownish fluid dribbled down her chin and onto the table below. Warren felt his stomach twitch, and somehow, he knew deep down what had become of her.
Without moving his eyes from her, he quickly placed a twenty on the table and slipped out of the booth, opting for the restroom instead of the front door. That would have meant walking past her, and the word 'contagious' kept ringing through his mind. On the television, Cadence returned to cover a few more intricate questions that Warren had been confidently groomed to answer, and that seemed to hold the bartender's attention well enough. Cliche as it seemed to wiggle his way out of a bathroom window with the purpose of escape, Warren couldn't have been more driven to get far away from the hostile atmosphere that had invaded his favorite lunch spot.
As he stepped into the restroom, he heard a man wretch in some horrible way behind one of the stalls, and that only added even more hustle to Warren's step. Quickly, he opened the old window and climbed through as if he'd done it a dozen times before, and quickly started off toward his apartment. Even as he walked briskly down the alley way, his entire body gave a visible shudder as the combined sense of fear and disgust overwhelmed him. He pulled his hoodie tight to his chest and held his arms tightly to himself, perhaps for a sense of security. "What have we done..."
