Personality-
When looking at Harper, the first thing that should really come to mind is that she appears to be a well-grounded person who always seems to know what she wants regardless of what else comes along. Once she gets on the back of something, she becomes totally devoted to the cause and will try not to let people down making her a hard working individual. She cares a lot about if a job gets done or not and it is possibly this. When it comes to Harper’s way of thinking about things, she prefers to be rational and the voice of all reason in a situation regardless of how aloof and off center it seems to her. She usually ignores what is given to her thinking that there must be an easier way to explain things and it is this rational mind-set that is preventing her from realising how much danger is really out there. Of course one of the bigger attributes often associated with Harper is the fact that her loyalty is never questioned and she will most always stick by her friends and stick by her own guns as well, the only time she doesn’t do so is when sticking to her guns falls directly opposite with sticking by her friends. She might seem to be accepting of the authority around her but at times she does feel that things can be moving at too slow a pace.
Harper is a fairly analytical person, always trying to devise plans and strategies because she feels that it is better to walk into a fight prepared and lose than to not think things through and win. She overthinks everything and always feels the need to explain every single little thing in her life to a tee and when she can’t figure something out, she gets fairly frustrated to the point where she has unfamiliarity with any of the ideas that reside in her own head. She tends to be the silent thinker in the crowd of people, always wary of her surroundings and how they could aid her if the worst should come to worse. When she isn’t dedicated in quiet thought, she can be a fairly conversational person willing to carry both sides of any conversation and capable of discussing ideas; she will always try to get herself involved in deep conversations. Her fairly intelligent mind has made people speculate that she does fit into the top 1% of the population though she feels she’s lucky if she even fits into the top 10%
Harper is what you would call an over achiever, always willing to get the job done 110% no matter what stands in her way and when she does do the job properly, she feels a sense of pride in herself. More often than not she will test her own limits when trying to achieve a certain task just to make sure that it is done right and it is this need to be a perfectionist which serves to be one of her more prominent flaws of character. She does like to push herself and whilst she might look down on those who don’t really try, she never really bothers to get at them as such feeling that the chances of them changing will be fairly low. Sometimes, the harshest critic that Harper can ever face is herself because she feels anything she does will never be good enough and that she will fail time and time again which has put a damper on her self-esteem in the past.
The most significant aspect to Harper is that she is a natural born leader, ready to pave the way for a new world and new changes if she gets the chance. Once put in a position of power, Harper will literally bite anything that tries to take that position of power away from her. She knows how to motivate others to carry on and is pretty good at getting people to agree with her most of the time which just goes to show that her own skills as a leader are second to none. This is one of the many reasons why she has made it this far and her skills in trying to get people to stay together, combined with leadership and tactics make her a force to be reckoned with.

History-
Harper was born as the second child to the relationship that existed between Mac and Alison Davis, a working class couple from Queens just trying to make it by day by day and hope nothing unfortunate came their way. It was quite a healthy relationship that they had with each other and that’s one of the main reasons that they managed to stay together for so long. Normally Alison would look after Harper and her older sister Angelica. Even from a young age she was observant enough to know that this was not how she wanted to spend most of her life and so set about trying to change that from an early age in order to try and pull her family out of the slump.
Her parents could see that their child was obviously a force to be reckoned with due to her wanting to adapt and change at a fairly young age. She developed a really good reading habit from the library and her intelligence from their just sprouted outwards to live up to its fullest potential. She knew she was clever but she never realised for one second that she did have the span to change everything in her life with her brain. At age five, she regularly went to the library at least twice a week, developing an affinity for more knowledge than she could possibly handle but she knew she would be fine and be able to push through it. She was never really going to live the life of luxury that she desired as a child but she had to at least try for herself.
As with everything else in her life, she grew older and as such partook in new activities such as Chess which for her only helped to heighten her own advanced intellect. She was already competing in national championships by age seven due to her strategic planning and quick wit combined with her ability to plan ahead for any attack made on her. It was all leading up to one thing as she became this person that she was today. However, after a defeat in an international tournament, she decided to drop out of competing in chess professionally realising she could never truly be the best in the world but if she played for fun that it would be less crushing when she did lose to someone.
In school, Harper was always looked to the kid who seemed to have all the answers to everything but didn’t seem to be in a rush to actually give them. The lessons she had learned from her defeat had made her a modest person and whilst she was smarter than a majority, if not all, of her classmates, Harper often felt the need to hide in the back just so no one would ever really turn to her. It got a little boring for her as she found quickly that there was no one to really converse with who could keep up with her intellectually. She grew bored and started to read in her free time due to the fact that she felt out of place and wanted to distance herself from her classmates. This carried on for quite a while and in the time, Harper had done nothing but to realise more of her own potential.
That did all change though as soon as she did finally meet a friend who seemed to be able to keep up with her slightly and whilst it might not have been what she had planned for, she rolled with it realising that she finally had a friend. Her friend seemed to know a lot and it intrigued Harper how clever she actually was and how she had come to be this way. It was also around this age that she did find her calling to be Physics, the subject itself simply seemed to speak to her and she had a deep affinity. It was clear to see that the both were a match made in heaven as they became the best of friends even despite all of the flaws that existed between them. They seemed to stick together well and the experience of having one friend made her want more as she took up more extracurricular such as becoming the Student Body President and also having a big part in the schools track team as well as creating a club for the Future Leaders of the world.
Taking up track was possibly one of the best things that she ever did because she knew that whilst it might have been exercise, she was good at it and it seemed to be the only sport she was up for as it gave her a chance to be a little bit popular though really not that much.
When senior year did come around, they still remained friends and knowing that she had to keep her close Harper chose to throw the grade system a bit just so she could keep her friend close and to let her know that she actually cared for her. Of course after that it seemed that they would go separate ways and into their retrospective fields with Harper throwing herself into Particle Physics thanks to a scholarship she got from her track times. She still runs to this day because she knew it was the only thing keeping her in college as it were. She spent the entire time in college always reading up and never really letting herself catch a break in fear that she would not succeed and end back up at square one once again. She did get her degree right enough and managed to get the job she wanted at a firm where she was free to express her intellect.
All good things were not meant to last and soon the news of the apocalypse loomed closer with zombies now lurking about which was at first waved off by Harper but after she saw them up close and personal as they destroyed her family, she couldn’t help but think that this was some sort of nightmare that they were living in. With that, her and her sister soon departed and made a quick footed attempt to try and search for other survivors whilst still retaining the upper hand that she might have.
Anything else?- Why yes, she is a virgin. Thanks for asking
Sample RP-
”Mam?” came a lone voice ringing through the apartment as the door latched itself closed behind Harper. The sound of silence greeting her back seemed to be eerily haunting at best. Her mother was always usually home on the weekdays and it was a surprise to see no one here.
She waited for a moment, her footsteps being slow and cautious at best right now. ”Da?” she asked once more, this time beckoning out to her father. It was unlikely that she would get a response but it was still worth a try. Of course as expected another bought of silence fell over the room as the haunting emptiness seemed to grip the room and tie it close together.
It was all surreal what was happening right now and for someone as well rounded and as rational as Harper. She had barely believed it herself that something like this could happen and it only went to show that no one was really perfect in a world full of madness. She had managed to sneak through the streets by herself but chances were that it wasn’t going to happen again because everything now seemed like a war zone, the streets torn up with armies of those brain feeding parasites. There was nothing she could really do right now as she shuffled slightly worrying more and more with every inch of ground that she managed to cover. What if she had been too late, what if they were already one of them, then what would happen.
”Anybody out there?”
A small whimper could be heard as she spoke once more, her eyes fleeting to the source of the sound which seemed to be coming from the bedroom. With nothing else to go on, she grabbed a ladle out of the utensils box, unsure of how she going to fend of these things. She waded her time by the doorframe, looking through the crack in the door to see a familiar face with the look of despair on her face. She pushed the door fully open and saw the real reason why she was crying. It was truly too horrible for words right now as she looked at it.
She looked at the bodies on the floor which seemed to pile up on top of each other and then there was the blood spatter all around the room as if whatever had done this had wanted something bad. It was haunting how serious this all was. ”W-what h-h-happened Angel?” she asked trying to shake the bad feelings from the back of her head as she knelt down next to the bodies.
”I came to check up on them and they were just like this… not moving. None of them have any pulses, they’re offfically gone” she said, unsure of how to break the news to her baby sister. It was okay though, she knew she was going to get her vengeance soon enough, all she needed to do though was to get out of New York first and establish a battle plan.
