A SWIMMER WHO AS SEEN A SHARK I SHOULD REALLY BE MORE WARY OF THE WATER _____________________________________
Lance Davis - Every man for himself - Diamond Corp
He drug himself down the street. Beaten up, bruised, and bleeding from the bullet graze on his arm. So far he'd remained unseen doing just what he needed too. He was still trying to find his daughter but he was far off course. It would take him a little over six hours to get to the school...he just didn't have the time nor the energy to handle that. But he had too, his daughter was in danger...his wife, the mother of his child. They just had to be together by now. It would only make sense. He would find them, he had to there wasn't another choice in the matter.
Lance ducked behind a dumpster. It appeared that he was no longer traveling alone. He heard strange sounds coming from the open street. Peeking over he saw people feasting on well...what remained of a corpse. The dead body appeared to have worn a police uniform. Lance recognized the badge that was on the ground. The sad thing? He couldn't get a positive identification...there wasn't much left. It took everything he had not too vomit on the scene.
Apparently something took notice for they began to turn their attention to the dumpster. Working off of nothing then adrenaline Lance moved from the dumpster and emptied his gun on what was left on them. He would later hit himself for this, all it did was call more of them to the seen. The detective took what was left of his energy and charged ahead. Things began coming out from behind corners, in cars, getting up from the ground. It was a horde.
Clutching his arm he ran, he just let his body carry him. The fight to stay alive made him move faster. What he wasn't aware was exactly where he was heading. Making it into a building Lance slammed the doors shut. He found a pipe laying near by and barricaded himself in. It wouldn't hold for long he began to search for other ways to seal the door. Not even considering if there was something inside that was equally as dangerous. Ah, gotta love fear.

BANG! The sound boomed, ripping her from her slumber. How she could sleep in the midst of all of this was unbelievable but she had. It was possible that she’d passed out from the initial shock, lucky for her she’d gotten into the security room before doing so. As she heard the loud boom, her body flinched at the sound, eyes wide and suddenly alert. Her hands were in her lap, the gun still firmly in her grasp. She blinked a little, adjusting her blurred gaze from tired eyes. The brunette sat up, rubbing a hand against her forehead as she felt a killer headache come on. She’d been sleeping with her head against the cabinet, for god knows how many hours and it had certainly been a big mistake.
After a few moments, she picked herself up off the floor and then the pain kicked in. Her elbow killed. She winced, lifting her arm ever so, dropping her eyes to the killer bruise that covered her elbow, yeah, it was definitely damaged. Rubbing gently at her injury, she took a deep breath. Placing the gun on the desk before her, she let her eyes scan the security monitors..this place was pretty much dead now, the only thing really left was blood and entrails belonging to those who’d fallen victim during the outbreak. That’s what they were calling it now, an outbreak...a virus and it started here at Diamond Corp. Well, that was her thesis anyway, everything was fine until the shit hit the fan here and people were getting eaten and now, it seemed New York had gone to hell.
She tilted her head, eyes narrowing on the monitor displaying the entrance, there was someone inside the building. So, that’s what the sound had been...she thought it’d been those fuckers trying to get at her again, but it was some guy. She couldn’t see him properly, but he looked armed and possibly injured too since he was clutching at his arm. She watched him for a few moments, before lifting her own gun. She slid the hand gun under her belt and lifted her jacket off the back of the chair she’d previously hung it over. She winced sliding her arm into it, feeling the burning agony that was her elbow. Letting her jacket cover her side arm, she turned to the weapons cage, taking the keys that were attached to her belt and unlocked it.
An array of firearms were laid out on display for her, she ran her hand across a few before stopping on one of the Assault Rifles. She often wondered why an organisation like Diamond Corp had weapons like this in their security office, but now it made perfect sense...in case of emergencies, most businesses had a fire extinguisher or a fire axe that you had to break glass to get too, but not Diamond Corp no, they were stocked with firearms. Though, she couldn’t complain, in a time like this it was encouraged. The brunette made sure to put a full clip in before taking another just in case she was to be taken by surprise like before.
She held the rifle at her side and walked to the door, setting it down on the table, she began to pull the file cabinet up in a bid to release the blockade on the door. Once it was moved, she lifted up her rifle and quietly opened the door. The corridor was dark, no lights as they all seemed to be out and the only light came from outside, which filled a fair amount of the large lobby area. She side stepped down the corridor, sticking to the wall as to not be seen. She neared closer to the lobby and could hear him moving around. Stopping at the end of the wall, she slowly peered around, narrowing her eyes on the back of him as he searched the lobby for something that she cared very little about.
Lifting the rifle up, she wasted no time in moving toward him and poked the gun against his back. Jayde narrowed her eyes on him, keeping the rifle pressed firmly in place “Don’t move...” she ordered sternly. She kept her grip firm, finger over the trigger just in case he pulled a fast one. Her eyes dropped on him a little, scanning him, he had a gun on him but that wasn’t what she was looking for...it was an injury of any kind, she’d seen him holding his arm but where she was stood she couldn’t see if he had any open wounds, possibly bites or scratches “Toss your gun aside and put your hands up above your head, where I can see them...don’t say anything, just do as I say. I don’t want to hurt you but if I have to I will. Now hands up...” she urged, prodding him with the gun a little for some encouragement. She needed to see what injuries he had, because if he had been bitten, she was going to end him right here and right now.

Lance Davis - Look Ma No Hands - Diamond Corp
He took off his coat and tie and threw them on the nearest thing. Carefully he rolled up his bloody white dress shirt. Brushing off his dark slacks he looked towards the door. For some reason the people that had been chasing him had seemed to stop. Whatever, at this point the cop/detective would take anything at this point. He looked at his arm, it wasn't deep but still bleeding out. He looked around for something that he could use. When he went to reach for his coat to tear off a piece of fabric he felt a gun poke him in the back followed by the one of the top five things you hear after a gun has been pointed at you.
"You have got to be shitting me." He said shaking his head. Okay, this sucked. So now there are people trying to eat him and the moment he gets safe he get's his head blown off. Fantastic.
"I suppose it won't help to let you know I have no intention to harm you. I was looking for safety from the people EATING each other!"
Lance really couldn't help himself. He's over the top to begin with...this was just icing on the cake when you come to that emotional brick wall. What he didn't realize because he was on his soap box was where exactly he was, the reason people were eating each other, and what it all meant. When reality finally catches up with him he'd be in for a shock.
He did as he was told, throwing his gun on the table and raising his arms up. His left a little slower then the right for obvious reasons. He winced, this was not a pleasant experience and then to top it off he got bumped knocking him forward.
"Is that really necessary?" Lance said trying hard not to fall down.
"Look you want more information, front pocket on my left my badge and ID."

It appeared that her guest was amongst the living dead, which was nice...for now. But could she really trust him? Just because he wasn’t running around with that look in his eyes and the craving for human flesh, could she trust him? As it went now, while times were hard it was every man for himself..she knew it was a dog eat dog world out there and if someone could fuck you over, to save their own skin they’d do it. There was also the argument that this man had been holding onto his arm, a possible injury, a bite perhaps? If that was the case it wouldn’t be long before he turned into one of those cannibal freaks.
She wasn’t taking any damn risks right now, she was not going to die here and especially without getting the answers that she deserved. This whole place had seemingly been abandoned, gone on lockdown and she was here throughout the whole thing not one person had come here to help her, yet they had time to raid the labs and rid evidence. That was fucked up and clearly put things into perspective for her. Diamond Corp were to blame, she just needed the evidence because right now all she was, was a woman with a hunch and a bunch of twisted stories. It made sense, it all made perfect sense. Everything was done so low key, people sneaking in and out and working till god knows what hour of the morning and for what? New products that would ‘change the world’ was this the change they wanted? A whole city to be wiped out just like that, civilian life replaced by the flesh hungry un-dead.
The woman stepped carefully, in a bid to go unheard. She had her rifle at her side, her posture straight and her mind set on the situation at hand. She had a tossup, of things to do. If he was infected, she’d have to kill him..if not well, then maybe she’d cut him some slack but as it went she would have to kick his ass for leading those things back here after she’d gotten fucking rid of them. Jayde walked, sticking to the wall before slowly stepping out. He had his back to her, pulling himself out of his jacket, loosening his tie and tossing it aside. She waited and then made her move. She came up behind him, poked the gun against his back and heeded her warning. He was a little caught off guard you could say.
"You have got to be shitting me." he grumbled, clearly a little dejected by the realisation that his self proclaimed safe haven was anything but. He shook his head, she kept her eyes on him and said nothing other than the orders to put down his weapon and lift his hands to where she could see them. "I suppose it won't help to let you know I have no intention to harm you. I was looking for safety from the people EATING each other!" Lance said, only highlighting his annoyance more as he pointed out the obvious problem lurking outside. She smirked to herself “...Maybe not, but how can I be sure?” she asked him calmly. Funnily enough, she seemed to handle stress and work well under pressure, like now. She always maintained a calm approach to things and always came across rather cool headed, with all things considered. It was a good question, how could she be sure? Here he was bleeding, clearly injured, how did she know that wasn’t a bite? That he wouldn’t turn moments from now and try to eat her like one of those sons of bitches outside? She didn’t, so she had to be sure.
He did as he was told which suited her just fine because she really didn’t want to have to force him. She watched him throw the gun onto the table before raising his arms up. She watched him carefully, her eyes scanning his every movement. Lance moved slow, a little too slow for her liking where the anticipation actually bugged her enough for her to bump him with the gun in effort to speed him up "Is that really necessary?" Lance asked, clearly displeased toward his treatment. He lifted his arms up and that’s when it became evident that his left arm was injured. She didn’t know how, but it was an open wounded injury which meant it could have been some kind of bite or a laceration made by one of those things, in which case he’d become infected.
"Look you want more information, front pocket on my left my badge and ID." Lance said. She dropped her eyes a little, before lifting them back to the injury on his arm. She lowered her rifle, removing it from against his back and it seemed for a moment that maybe she was letting him free. Only, she wasn’t because as soon as the rifle left him, she took her side arm and pressed it against the back of his head. Now, to the important part “That’s not necessary, not when I can ask you directly. Now, you’re arm, what happened?” She asked him. She was holding the sidearm against the back of his head for a reason, if there was a chance he’d be infected, one single bullet to the brain would take him out and he certainly wouldn’t come back from that.
She waited, before taking the safety off, letting him hear it “Have you been bitten? or scratched? I need to know...” She urged him, her patience warring thin.

Lance Davis - Pull your head out of your ass - Diamond Corp
In all honesty, Lance was slow when it came to facts. He wasn't by any means stupid but he had this unnatural habit to avoid the truth staring at him in the face. He'd seen plenty of zombie movies as a kid. Hell, even the more recent ones. But it still wasn't adding up to him that this is what was happening. Why Jayden was so adamant to see his injury. In a proper mindset Lance would have understood and used that facts in front of him to solve these questions. But he wasn't. His best friend/mentor tried to kill him, his family is missing, his unit completely killed, and he got to witness that majority of their deaths. His buddies, coworkers, screaming out his name for help and there was nothing he could do. It tore him apart and the weight over everything was his seven year old daughter that could be anywhere.
"How can you be sure? I thought this went without saying but eating people doesn't sound to appetizing to me." Lance said again missing the obvious flaw in his logic, his injury.
Lance as impressed at how calm this chick was being though all this. Although, one could assume you can always be calm when you're standing behind the gun in this kind of situation. Either way, Lance really needed to learn to be cool under pressure. He was no used to anyone when he was like this. He was avoiding obvious facts and clues that could help him. But he was drunk with worry about his family. There no force on earth that could jolt him out of this for the time being. If he actually focused on something he could take advantage of where he was, that didn't look like it was happening though.
"Have it your way, since you've got the gun and all."
His injury? What kinda hellish question was that? That had nothing to do with the task at hand. He needed treatment and then to get back out there.
"Bitten? Scratched? This is a gunshot wound. I was trying to help some guy on the ground and he bled out on me. All I knew next were people started shooting at me."

Jayden was pretty persistent right now; there was no way in hell she was backing down until she knew what the fuck she was dealing with here. She couldn’t take any chances with him, if he was injured due to an attack made by one of the infected, then she needed to know so that she could deal with it. Of course, the only way of dealing with it was to kill him where he stood. She hoped on some level that this would not be the case, you see, she hadn’t seen anyone normal for days now and quite honestly was starting to wonder if she was the only one left. That was crazy no doubt, a whole city dead and you’re the only survivor it seemed almost impossible..but what was impossible anymore? The dead coming back to life? Flesh eating zombies?..all real apparently. You’d never have thought it but the evidence was right there for you to face, there was no denying it.
"How can you be sure? I thought this went without saying but eating people doesn't sound too appetizing to me." he said. She snorted, rolling her eyes slightly at his attitude. There was no need to cop an attitude about it; he’d have done the same in her position. She poked him with the gun, as if silently urging him to cut the crap. She wasn’t here to play games, the longer they fucked about the less time she’d have...if he was going to change, she wanted to be aware of it first. She wasn’t all much of a fan of surprises.
It was clear that his injuries were of her main concern, he probably didn’t understand why. But, once she’d explained he’d get it. It made her wonder why he hadn’t tweaked already, was he asleep when the world fell to shit? Did he not realise what those fuckers were or that they carried a disease that could change a person in a split second. Of course, time was a question here, some changed instantly and others days and it all relied on the person. Typically good immunity made the infection slow down in progression, granting some hours maybe even days before complete transition, but still...each changed. It was simple; if you were bitten or even scratched you became one of them.
"Have it your way, since you've got the gun and all." Lance said, finally doing the right thing and listening to her. He lifted his arms for her to see, but she couldn’t see the wound clearly. She lowered her rifle but replaced it with her side arm, poking it against the back of his head where she demanded to know how the injury was sustained. "Bitten? Scratched? This is a gunshot wound. I was trying to help some guy on the ground and he bled out on me. All I knew next were people started shooting at me." She’d fallen silent, eyes watching the back of his head as her gun pressed firmly against his skull. She asked herself, would he be the type to lie? Well, everyone was capable of lying...but she wasn’t sure. It appeared that Lance here, he didn’t seem to know what the fuck was going on. He seemed confused at her question regarding bites or scratches as if he wasn’t sure why she’d be so concerned or even ask such a stupid thing. It wasn’t stupid and he’d understand soon enough.
“Thank you. That wasn't so hard, was it?” she simply said, Jayde lowered the gun from. She slipped the side arm back into her belt and lifted the rifle up into her arms. Taking a step back, she broke the space between them “You can put your hands down now.” She told him, pivoting on her heel and walking toward the large reception desk that she had once been seated at working all those days ago. “Also, you might want to find something to keep that door secure, that isn’t going to keep them out.” She told Lance, glancing over her shoulder at him as she neared the desk. Jayde slipped her jacket off and placed it onto the desk, before leaning over the top and reaching inside. She opened the drawer and pulled out a small first aid kit, it had basic supplies of bandages and antiseptic solutions.
She laid the box on the desk, turned sideways on her heel, her head facing Lance as her eyes narrowed. She pulled one of the seats up and stuck it down in front of the desk, patting it for him to sit “We’re gonna have to do something about that. We need to get it cleaned and covered up, you can’t risk infection. Like you said eating people doesn’t sound appealing to you....better safe than sorry” Jayde chimed with a grin, urging for him to sit down in the seat, whilst she soon set herself down in the one beside, placing the box on her lap ready to aid to his injury.

Lance Davis - Oh no - Diamond Corp
He was a jackass. That much was no contest add in all the extra baggage that he was carrying made Lance Davis a huge jackass. However the young father would find out all too soon what has happened to the world and where he was. That was going to be the real shocker when everything is brought to the table. Lance still hadn't had a good chance to look around at where he was. Well, that was mostly because of the fact he couldn't really turn around without getting filled full of lead. To be perfectly honest, Lance still hadn't gotten a look at who was currently holding him.
"No, it wasn't but a I've always been told that I'm difficult. Not really sure if that's a good or bad thing."
Lance put his hands down slowly covering his wound with his hand again. He listened to the instructions given to find something else to hold the door to keep them out. For the first time he turned around to see her. DAMN. Maybe there was still a God. He escaped the people eating him to find a drop dead gorgeous bitch hiding in a building. Thank you. His eyes widen a little bit as he took the full imagine in. First nice thing he'd seen in a while since being out there. The guilt kicked in, he would have gotten slapped in the back of his head by his wife for thinking this. For some odd reason she could always get in his head. It was scary. She was still out there with his daughter.
The Detective looked around the pipe was already driven through the handles of the door. He saw chains behind the desk with a lock. He set them through the handles and locked the padlock taking the key and putting it in his pocket. Well that was sure convenient. All these things around the front entrance. Lance wondered if there was more people here. They locked eyes again when she was ruffling through a drawer. She then took off her jacket. Crap. MARRIED, marriedmarriedmarriedmarriedmarried. If he kept reminding himself this he might stop having these feelings. Where was a good head slap when you needed one? She pulled out the chair and gestured for him to sit down.
"Uh, yeah...thank you."
Lance looked down and realized his shirt would probably hinder the whole cleaning the wound thing. That and it was about now that he realized he'd been wearing someone else's blood for god knows how long. He unbuttoned his white....well whiteish dress shirt and threw it on the desk.
"So do you mind me asking the regular questions here. Who, what, when, where, and why?"

Jayde wasn’t always so hard to get around, she could be quite a lenient woman at times only times right now were nothing the same as before. Because, before the fucking city wasn’t populated with the walking dead. So, desperate times called for desperate measures and she found herself in some hot water right now. This guy he’d come off the streets, injured by the looks of it and that spelt trouble for her. As far as she knew, anyone who’d come in direct contact with the infected either didn’t make it, or got infected. Now, since he’d gotten this far, he was likely the second of those two options which meant he was as good as dead.
She had to take precaution and it seemed he didn’t know or understand why. Well, he would soon and when he did he’d realise that she was right to take such careful steps toward approaching him. She was a single female; by herself and the only thing for company were an array of weapons. She couldn’t trust anyone; no one could trust just anyone anymore because you weren’t sure who was safe to be around. It didn’t matter how fucking skilled you were, how brave...if one of those fuckers go you that was it. End game.
"No, it wasn't but a I've always been told that I'm difficult. Not really sure if that's a good or bad thing." he confessed. She smirked slightly, was it a good thing? She wasn’t sure herself. Jayde shrugged “I suppose it depends on the circumstances, in this circumstance it’s kind of annoying and a little stupid on your. After all, it could have resulted in you gaining a big hole in the back of your head for not complying...” she stated coolly, it was true; she wasn’t going to lie about it. If he hadn’t shown her his injury nor been straight forward, she’d have put him out of his misery.
Jayde watched him as he lowered his hands, covering his wound with his hand again. He was in agony and not to mention the injury was exposed, she’d need to patch him up; walking around with it like that was far too fucking risky. They couldn’t risk him getting infected, they couldn’t risk anyone else but no one else was in her company. If she fancied her chances, Boy Scout here would need to stay amongst the living. At this point she had not gotten a good look at the front of him as she had been faced with the back of him for the duration of the time, aside from the glimpse the cameras provided. Jayde watched him turn around, to see the look on his face...which displayed slight surprise. What else was he expecting? Well, from the looks of things the front of him looked as good as the back. However, right now other thing occupied her mind.
She didn’t bother with the chit chat, once it was established that he’d not be gnawed on, she turned and walked back toward the main desk where she knew a first aid kit was lurking. Right now, the first thing that needed to be sorted was his injury, because while that was still open and fresh it was prone to infection. He may not have been aware of the situation, but she was and she knew the risks that come with. She left him to deal with the door, glancing over her shoulder for a moment to see what he was doing...after all, this was her territory. Once he was done, she caught his gaze, before turning away again. Freeing herself from her jacket, she tossed it aside. Her elbow still killed, but she dealt with it...right now, there was no time for sitting around and crying like a baby over a ‘war wound’. She laid her gun on the table and picked the first aid box from the desk.
Plonking herself down on a seat, she pulled another other and tapped it urging him to take it. "Uh, yeah...thank you." Lance said. She simply nodded in reply. She watched him as he unbuttoned his shirt and peeled it off, it was filthy, covered in blood mostly but she wasn’t sure if all of it was his. Well, that’d be something the needed to also get rid of...any blood that could because infection had to be removed. She was certain there was something else to wear around here; she’d take a look after patching him up. Her eyes watched him for a moment, maybe a little more than they should have but she was only female after all. He then sat down.
Jayde popped open the box, she let her hand rummage inside and began to take items out, placing them on the table beside her "So do you mind me asking the regular questions here. Who, what, when, where, and why?" he asked. She lifted her eyes to him for a moment, those questions, she had those questions too and she was certain many others did. So, how to answer all of those questions at once she wondered? Well, there was no way...so she’d have to answer as best as she could “You ask too many questions...” she muttered. The brunette grabbed some of the antiseptic solution, took a cotton pad from the pack and scooted closer to him urging for him to let her see his arm.
She began to clean at the wound, dabbing lightly, first to clear the blood away from the surrounding area but avoiding rubbing it toward the wound just in case it wasn’t just his “No one really knows all of the answers. Look, all you need to know is those things out there...they’re not like us. There was an outbreak of infection, which was why I asked you about your injury....you see, the infection is spreads pretty quickly. It’s not airborne, not from what I know but it’s passed on through...bodily fluids, blood, saliva...bites, scratches...” Jayde explained, pausing for a moment for him to keep up to speed with her.
She let her eyes sit on him “...Everyone I know in this city is dead, outside this city I’m not even sure of...i have no idea how far this shit has spread. But, judging by how quickly it spread here, I wouldn’t say out of state is anywhere near safe. It’s possible everyone else I know is dead and that goes the same for you. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s not looking so good. Those people out there, they’re not people and you’ve got to be cautious of every single person you bump into...especially those with injuries. Because if you’re bitten or scratched you become one of them, that’s if they don’t eat you first.” She said to him. Jayde continued to clean at his wound, it was deep but just a flesh wound, she didn’t think it’d need stitching up but to be precarious it was possibly the best idea.
“I think I’m gonna have to sew this up and we can get it covered.” She said.

Lance Davis - He's a little slow - Diamond Corp
Funny thing? This wasn’t the first time he’d heard this conversation. You’d think that after a certain amount of time it would set in that goofing off probably didn’t get anywhere fast. Complying and being collected would have been better courses of actions. But hey, when you just get off the streets of people trying to eat you, can you really be held accountable? Well sure you can, but it was worth a shot. Of course nothing in life had ever been able to derail his immature thought train. With the exception of his wife, who merely plotted a different course of it. Damn women…come in, screw with things, and suddenly you blink your eyes and you’ve lost everything. You wearing what she wants you to. Saying what she wants you to. Doing what she wants. Damn marriage, perfect little angel, perfect soul mate. Hell…and damn that he absolutely loved it.
"Well it‘s a good thing I‘ve got charm and devilish good looks to get me out of these situations."
He was now there shirtless with a beautiful woman behind him. Hm, what to do? Flexflexflexflexflexflex. Damn skipping out on his workouts muscle tone needed to be evident now! It appeared that the woman before him was not much into speaking either that or considered him to still be a threat. Which meant that a bullet was still possible if things went wrong. Considering the world went to hell, she could put a bullet in him for no damn reason at all. Ah, examples of life and death at its finest.
"Technically I only asked one question." Lance rebuttal with a stupid grin.
It all kind came at him at once. How could he be so stupid! ZOMBIES. Dear lord he had to get his head on straight. Well, that would explain why this girl was so adamant about knowing how Lance was hurt. He could have possibly been infected. She was looking out for herself, honestly he would have done the same thing if the position was switched. Man, way to just completely miss that fly ball that came spinning towards him. What was interesting was he was really just trying to find out where he was, who she was, but he got some really great intel. Plus looking like a complete retard. Bonus.
"Okay, that explains a lot and that I‘m a moron. I‘m Lance do I have the pleasure to know who I‘m speaking to as she tends to my wounds?"
Lance winced slightly, she was cleaning the wound which had to be done. Hopefully it wouldn’t’ be too bad. Then he received more good news.
"Oh goodie, lucky me."
He took a breathe and closed his eyes, opened one to look at her and closed them again.
"Okay, I‘m ready." He said keeping them closed. Turning his head slightly the other direction.
What a ham.

Jayde hadn’t banked on having any company especially that of a boy scout. Still, the company was good, it’d stop her from going bat shit crazy in this god forsaken shit hole. He was kind of easy on the eye, well from what she could see in the pretty dark lobby area. She was cautious in her approach, never letting her guard down just in case he pulled a fast one. After briefly examining his injuries she deemed him safe and believed that he was definitely not in any risk of infection and urged him to take a seat so she could patch him up.
"Well it‘s a good thing I‘ve got charm and devilish good looks to get me out of these situations." Lance said, she tilted her head slightly as if quizzing his words. Oh fun, a man with an ego...that was all she needed. It came to pass that Jayde was a woman who believed in equality, she may not have had a dick but she could certainly match anything this guy had to give and any other bloke that strolled into this place. Still, it was amusing at its best “Whatever you say...” she trailed, letting her eyes scale his naked torso before turning on her heel and moving back to the desk.
Taking the first aid box she placed it down, turning her hazel gaze toward him as he took a seat "Technically I only asked one question." he replied with a grin. She lifted her eyes to him, giving him her infamous death stare “That’s one too many” she retorted flatly, but the hint of a smirk began to emerge on her face. She got him to take a seat and began taking essential items from the box which she would use to aid his wounds. Jayde gave him the 411 on the current situation outside, she kept it simple and brief that way he’d learn quickly that outside equalled bad.
"Okay, that explains a lot and that I‘m a moron. I‘m Lance do I have the pleasure to know who I‘m speaking to as she tends to my wounds?" Jayde stifled a laugh, choosing not o argue against his statement and gently nodded agreeing. She couldn’t disagree he didn’t know what was going on here, that was pretty moronic. “I’m Jayde” she told him as she began to clean away the blood using a cotton ball. She was able to get a better look at the injury once clearing some of the blood away. It wasn’t a terrible injury but it would certainly need closing up. She turned her eyes toward Lance who winced a little; yeah he wasn’t going to like this one.
She watched him as she explained having to sew up the wound. He was less then pleased of course. "Oh goodie, lucky me." he said, she chuckled shaking her head at him “It’s really not that bad. It could be a whole lot worse, we could cut it off?” she suggested looking deadly serious. She watched him for a moment, smirking once more as she turned back to the box. He closed his eyes preparing himself, before shooting one peeper open and gazing at her. She raised a brow, he closed his eyes again and nodded "Okay, I‘m ready." he assured. She grinned at him; he was like a little kid.
She prepped the needle and cotton ready to patch him up, it’d be a botch job but mostly due to the lack of supplies here, it’d do the job though and maybe once they got down to the labs she’d find better supplies to do the job properly...or there was the hospital not so far away from here. For now, it would do. She bought the needle to his skin “Brace yourself...” she warned before making a quick movement and piercing the needle through the skin as quick as she could, once he got over the initial shock from the first prick he’d be fine with the rest. She waited for a moment, eyes scaling him as she waited for the nod to continue and began sewing the wound up.

Lance Davis - School does pay off - Diamond Corp
Being a graduate of Berkley with a Psychology Lance was able to decipher a few things from the woman he now knew as Jayde. She didn't like to give out more information then she had too and she wasn't really into the whole conversation thing. Seemed to be when it was necessary or when information had to be transferred. Okay, so with this information in mind he had to proceed with forensic psychology one zero one. Getting on the same level. Oddly enough was used in some interrogation methods. He needed more information. Where was he? How long had she been here? What does she know? Is there more people here? Anything that could help him find his family by any means and any safe houses were definitely help.
Lance figured this would be anything but easy to accomplish. Her posture suggested that she was strong willed. She made eye contact during her conversations, she was direct in her speaking, and her voice inflection was powerful. This woman was not one to be trifled with and getting any information out of her that she didn't want to give would be near impossible for even the toughest interrogators. Oh well, Lance did love a challenge especially if they are hot. The death stare he got pretty much gave him the answers he needed. He had to be right about this woman. That stare...well, if looks could set people on fire, Lance would have been ablaze in a nanosecond. He'd seen his wife give a variation of that look when he screwed up. It wasn't a pleasant experience. She smirked afterward? It was slight but it was there. AH-HA! Charm was still active. Jayde was a mystery, she seemed to be very cold and strong but at the same time wanting to help and almost understanding. Lance couldn't wrap his head around her psyche.
"Eh, it's my left arm. My right is a lot more important, certain things require my right arms attention." He said with another goofy grin.
He was ready for it. But when the needle went in it was awful. Lance was pretty good about not moving. He had a relative high tolerance for pain. It hurt but he could take it....not it was burning. Very sharp object weaving in and out of his own skin. Okay, perhaps it was best to think of something else? Like bunnies, flowers, and puppies. Yeah, nice things. But this was the best time to try and move on.
"So...I get the feeling talking isn't your thing...ugh...but I was thinking if I've...ah...gotten this far. Do you know where we are?" There was a lot of whencing but he was getting through it.

Jayde could be a little mysterious at times; it wasn’t for her trying it was simply how she had always been. She wasn’t the kind of woman who wore her emotions on her sleeve for the world to see, unless of course that emotion was anger in which case she’d displayed it on several occasions. She wasn’t the witty banter, small talk type of woman. She only really spoke when she had something to say, or found something interesting enough to reply to. People often perceived her negatively, deeming her hard faced and somewhat ignorant toward others. That wasn’t it at all; she was just so used to being a certain way that she had never altered her behaviour to suit the needs of others. She was how she was and if people didn’t like that, it was just tough shit.
She was a strong, independent woman who made a habit of coming across as just that. She was in no way inclined to play the damsel in distress, if anything she would play the role of the hero. It wasn’t ideally a comfortable role for her to play someone weak, she wasn’t weak and Lance would know that from taking one look at her. She was cautious, driven and not afraid to neither confront nor enter a stick situation. Jayde was a private person, not that she had secrets but she didn’t share enough information with those around her, especially from the get go...she’d do so when she was good and ready to do it. She played by her own rules, no one else’s.
Jayde had often been told that she was difficult to figure out and she liked it that way. Sometimes it was hard to tell if she was being playful or serious, sometimes it took the most observant person to pick up on a shift in mannerisms or expression to figure it out. So when she made her comment, the hint of a smirk surfaced and she was made aware that Lance did in fact pay attention, she could tell by his face that he’d figured her out there...he got a brownie point for that one. She liked when people listened to her, rather than staring at her chest.
"Eh, it's my left arm. My right is a lot more important, certain things require my right arms attention." he said grinning. She raised a brow at him, the smirk still present on her lips “...I see. Well, isn’t it a good thing there’s so many empty rooms around you? That means you two can have some privacy.” She joked, her smirk broadening as she did. Jayde continued to see to his injuries, it wasn’t anything that couldn’t be fixed easily. But it would hurt; she wasn’t going to lie about that.
She told him to brace himself whilst she prepped the pin ready to sew his wound up. Of course no amount of warning would make the pain any easier to take, and since they had no anaesthetic he would need to take it how it was. It was fine, he was a man after all...she didn’t expect him to burst into tears over it. If he did, she would definitely smack him around the head and tell him to man up. It wasn’t that bad really, she’d had it before...if she could take it, so could he. "So...I get the feeling talking isn't your thing...ugh...but I was thinking if I've...ah...gotten this far. Do you know where we are?" he said. She lifted her eyes to him, flashing a small grin “Whatever gave you that idea?..” she asked, it wasn’t a question that needed answering. It was more of her pointing out the obvious of his comment, she wasn’t the chattering type.
Jayde let her eyes scan the room slightly, before setting them back on him “...I do. We are at Diamond Corp, my place of work. Which kinda sucks when you think about it, hm? New York turns to shit and I’m at work. It’s funny that, when you walked in here I thought you knew where you were. I thought you’d intended to come here.” Jayde said, continuing to sew up the injury, being a little gentler now since the previous wincing. She didn’t want to hurt him; she knew it hurt so she tried her best to relieve some of the pain.
She nodded “I also expect more to come. I guess I don’t have to tell you why. Everyone knows this place has raised a few brows in the past, people have a lot of questions they want answering and now well....the shit just kinda hit the fan. People are looking to pin the blame on someone. I’m not here to keep anything hidden if that’s what you think, quite the opposite actually. I may have been head of security here for a while now but...well, I guess we can both agree that I no longer have a job.” She stated with a smile.

Lance Davis - It's over - Diamond Corp
Puppies, flowers, and kittens. Puppies, flowers, and kittens. Puppies, flowers, and kittens. Puppies, flowers, and kittens. Puppies, flowers, and kittens. Puppies, flowers, and kittens. He was in pain but so far doing well to mask just how much. Yes, high tolerance for pain. But it still sucked. It was uncomfortable and he did not enjoy it. It was almost done though he looked down, yeah she was almost done. He smirked at her comment.
“I was talking about writing. I use my right had to write. Geez, what were you thinking of? …dirty.” He said with another stupid grin on his face.
Although the information was valuable. If he was going to be staying here a while it might be good to know the layout of the place. He liked Jayde she seemed to know what she was doing and really she was the first person he had seen that was still alive after all this mess. You can only wander around hell for so long before you start to lose your mind. So it was safe to say it was nice to find someone who didn’t want him as dinner. Lance felt less pain, which was an overwhelming relief. It appeared Jayde was also being more gentle with him taking care not to injure or make his experience any worse. She was indeed quite caring. Lance had apparently hit the nail on the head with her. Which was good. It was nice to find someone who at first glance appeared he could trust. Though, in this day an age it was safe to assume anyone could turn on you or through you to the wolves. But this woman, his gut was telling him something different.
Ah, she had sarcasm. Another bonus went to her. Lance loved any woman that could hold her own in a verbal sparring match. The Detective was always classified as over the top, perhaps it was because he finally had his head on straight he was so calm and collected. At the thought of hearing Diamond Corp Lance would have normally lost it and gone storming deeper into the place breaking things. They ended his career, demoted him, they are to blame for his life taking such a horrible turn. Well, up until the whole world going down the crapper thing. It both a good and bad thing to end up here. He had to know more one way or the other.
“It could be worse, you could live in Oklahoma. I’d much rather be at work then step one foot into that shit hole of a state. …again. I should probably be more specific.” He said referring more to the past in the god awful state. Yeah, he rambles.
“Diamond Corp…hm, that’s irony kicking me in the balls. They demote me from Federal Agent to Police Officer and throw me back into New York. I try everything humanly possible to take them out…and now I end up saved because of them. Well…sorta they are kinda to blame for this I suppose.” Lance was really sure of anything but he was sure that following Jayde would be a good idea. He listened on.
“I have to agree with you. I was just running for my life, I really didn’t know where I was going. But I have to assume people are going to come here. So the question I pose to you since you know this facility like the back of your hand, what do you want to do?”

“I was talking about writing. I use my right had to write. Geez, what were you thinking of? …dirty.” He asked, another dumb look on his face. Jayde smirked at him, shrugging lightly "I just say it how I see it, that's all.." The woman explained to him. Times like these you needed something to keep you from going crazy, her humour played well for that.
To be honest, she was kind of grateful for the company. She hadn't liked being alone, despite acting as if she did. She had too much time on her hands, too much time to concern and wonder where as now with this man in her presence she had something to take her mind off of. She wasn't planning on staying here forever, so if he was looking for a 'partner' she would happily offer herself up. It beat staying in here all alone.
“It could be worse, you could live in Oklahoma. I’d much rather be at work then step one foot into that shit hole of a state. …again. I should probably be more specific.” he rambled. Jayde chuckled, raising a slight brow at him as she did so "Oklahoma? I do detect a little hosility there..." she chirped "So, come on what did Oklahoma ever do to you?" the brunette quizzed as she continued to patch up his injuries. She was curious of this one, of how he got this far without knowing what was going on and generally just anything she could learn right now. It was so good to have the company.
“Diamond Corp…hm, that’s irony kicking me in the balls. They demote me from Federal Agent to Police Officer and throw me back into New York. I try everything humanly possible to take them out…and now I end up saved because of them. Well…sorta they are kinda to blame for this I suppose.” Lance said. She smiled, giving a small nod "You are exactly right and that's why I stayed here" she confessed to him. The woman finished sewing up the wound and gave it another clean "I think they had more to do with this then they're letting on. I mean, you don't just up and leave with no explanation unless you have something to hide, right?" she requested, wondering if that was just her thought or if it actually meant anything. She began to pack away and spoke again "I'm going to get answers, and when I do....i'm going to take them down" Jayde was a woman of her word, she had a goal right now...two goals, to survive and to blow this out of the water completely.
“I have to agree with you. I was just running for my life, I really didn’t know where I was going. But I have to assume people are going to come here. So the question I pose to you since you know this facility like the back of your hand, what do you want to do?” he asked. Jayde grinned at him, the woman picked herself up from her seat "Me? I wanna go explore the labs downstairs. I am certain that all the answers we need are down there...it's just a matter of actually getting inside thats the problem." Jayde explained to him, they needed a doctors key card and she didn't have one of those.

A SWIMMER WHO AS SEEN A SHARK I SHOULD REALLY BE MORE WARY OF THE WATER _____________________________________
Lance Davis - Onward - Diamond Corp
Ah sarcasm, it was the one of the few things that got instant respect from him. He was far to off the wall to handle a bland conversation in his eyes sarcasm always seemed spice things up. It was apparent now more then ever that the woman before him was well versed in her spices. He laughed at her comment, it was nice to just be light hearted during all this mess. Something that actually seemed normal after all this. Horror was all real now, the movies and games that all depicted this dead wasteland…it was all true. People always joked about how they were going to survive something like this, how safe they would be. Granted, some of them probably had done just that. But most of the world could not have been that lucky. Now they were trapped in this world. There was no turning back, and nothing would ever be the same again.
Oklahoma. That armpit of the United States full of drugged up white trash, inbreed country hillbillies. It was just disgusting. The whole state was either coked out or so mellow and hick it should be illegal. Lance had a big problem with the state, denouncing the fact that Oklahoma University was the worst college in the modern world. Really it all steamed back to when he was looking at colleges and took a tour there…Lance’s first impressions of the place was anything but good. It was filthy and people seemed like runners up in the Special Olympics. He left the state before he was finished with the tour.
“What did it do? You mean besides being the meth capital of the world? I walked into a gas staion casino. Yeah, that’s right a GAS STATION connected to a CASINO. Went to piss and loe and behold there is a BIOHAZARD BOX in the BATHROOM. How nice for when the inbreed down syndrome needs to shoot up he has somewhere to put the needle. The only reason I’d want to step foot into that state is so I can go to town on some hick zombies.”
Did anyone mention Lance has a tendency to rant?
Yep, rant started and man just caught up with himself. He cleared his throat.
“Yeah, there’s little hostility for them.”
Jayde seemed to be very serious about taking Diamond Corp down. Lance was behind her one hundred percent of the way. Anything he could do to help he would. Whatever answers that lay buried here still he would help uncover. It was his rasion detre, his reason of being. Even his wife said he was too serious about the whole. Well guess who is right now honey? Great, there was that ping in his heart again that his family was gone. Instant depression set in. She had to still be alive she just had to be. His family, his wife and little girl. They were still out there. He would find them, that was his real reason of being…his family.
“You’re absolutely right Jayde. It appears we have a common goal and if you’re okay I’d like to help see this through.” Lance said in his first serious tone…it didn’t last long though.
“The labs you say? Hm, what’s the problem? We have to fight past an army of chimpanzees…well by now Zombie Chimps? Or flip over lasers and fight off robots? What’s the happs?”
